theres deer in the industrial estate where a work, went for a walk lunchtime Friday and as soon as they seen me they panicked and scattered, always feel sorry for them cause they haven't much land left there's new houses being built left right and centre

Today on my local patch 2 Stonechat noted,2 pairs of Raven courting in the air,a calling Green Woodpecker, one Hawfinch seen as were 2 Nuthatch and a cracking view of a Female Sparrowhawk.Strong winds from the North West coming in later today, tomorrow and especially Thursday,so with a bit of luck one or 2 cool species of Gulls will be noted.

Cool PS Remember Bees are declining at serious levels so if you get a chance check your garden for Flowers they love and maybe plant some.I hate gardening but even i will do a hint of planting! They love Geraniums,Crocus,Borage,Buttercup,Fennel,Aster,Snowdrop,Thyme,Cilantro and Hollyhock.

I know what you mean, but they are surprisingly adept at surviving in suburban areas! In fact their numbers are probably at an all time high if the amount of sightings ive had in recent years is anything to go by.

They are really nice to see, but can be a real problem with road users. Hitting one of them can cause carnage. Im sure i read recently the number of accidents involving deer is in the thousands per year!!

Also they have no predators, (apart from foxes/badgers as newborns)so they are proliferating!

You may be right mate. I took it as read they could and would kill a baby lying still in the undergrowth if they came across it, but i cant find anything online to support that.

forth and clyde canal at ma bit in dalmuir Clydebank is a disgrace, full of plastic takeaway boxes carrier bags etc felt sorry for the ducks and moorhens, now and again in the summer the barge sails along to try and clean it, am hoping my turtles in the canal (jack, victor and isa as av named them) are ok after the cold weather, poor things waking up to their 3month hibernation to such filth, sorry for the rant but when a walked along the canal a was disgusted :55:
