3 young Sparrowhawk have recently flown the nest in my local Woods with their very squeaky calls. I watched them this morning flying around with their bigger proud mother.
4 pairs nest in my local patch totally outnumbering the single pair of Kestrels.
Also a pair of Peregrine of course on My local patch and 2 pairs of Buzzards.

Went to an Animal Farm earlier was in my element; goats, pigs, llama’s, snakes, newborn lambs being fed. Got some pics but they’re too big to upload.

There are loads of free image resizing websites, you can compress or reduce size easily without losing much image quality.

Pretty quiet on my local patch of late however this morning on my local sea front signs of Autumn migration showing with a Juv Wheatear noted being chased by one of the local Rock Pipits. Also a 7 or 8 Juv Turnstone have arrived overnight it seems. 1 handsome summer plumages Dunlin notes. And a Gannet also noted.
The other day the local Peregrines were noted showing really well.

Itook out my camera this week after it was in its bag for over a year as I kinda lost a wee bit of interest,i went to the garden of the wee school where I work seeing as the kids are still off on holiday and it was quiet,i caught these two on the feeder along with a few other small birds,i really enjoyed the peace and quiet and spent a couple of hours there.

Next door has just cut down a large orange butterfly bush that the birds absolutely loved. It has been there over 30 years and grew up the middle of the hedge separating our gardens. My da gave it to them as a wee shrub. The finches, * and robins used to fly in and out of it all day when using our feeders. I'm gutted. Thinking of putting a couple of rowan trees in the garden along the hedge to make up for losing it.

I know BFL. I had just put a new bird bath beside it a couple of weeks ago so the wee birds would have plenty of cover and be comfortable using it.

Was out the other day with my wee niece , she was wanting to catch some tadpoles . I think we were too late in the year tho . We went down to the local pond where there is a thriving colony of ducks there . AS we were walking round it the ducks followed us round the whole way :39: no bread tho .

I was out fishing at the weekend , and there were 4 species landed ; Mackerel , Pollock , Cod and a single Ling . Everything was put back safely due to their size , apart from a good few Mackerel . On the trip back to harbour , several Gannets were spotted diving for prey . It's a spectacular sight . I saw a Grey Squirrel last week , first Grey I've seen for ages . The Reds around here are far more common now , happily . At work I saw a Dipper and a Pied Wagtail .

I've seen Gannets diving for prey many times mate. It's a sight I can NEVER tire of. One of natures greatest sights.

Brilliant photo! The wee blue * in our garden never sit still long enough for me to take a photo. Even on the feeders, they're in and out like a flash. Seem to take one seed at a time, fly away then back again for another one. Goldfinches look more greedy and they'll stay on feeders for ages.

I watched a hare this morning coursing over a field. What a speed they reach!

Aye,they're really fast alright,i set up my camera on a tripod about 3 feet from the feeders,i set a really fast shutter speed to try and catch some detail,i also had a remote switch attached so I could sit about 20 feet away when I was taking the pictures. although these pics came out quite good there's plenty of shots of empty feeders when the wee feckers were just too fast.
