Yes, one day you will draw your last breath, and be dead. You will cease to be! You will be expired and gone to meet yer maker!

How do you cope with the knowledge of your own mortality? The auld death anxiety, with the thought that everything you have ever done would be meaningless.. you're dead, what's it matter?

Or do you deal with it with belief in an afterlife, or something.

Does the knowledge of your impending death scare you, or does it make you feel that life is very precious, to be enjoyed while it lasts?

Sometimes I think about it, then I remember that I probably have the same amount of life left that I've already lived.

That's makes me stop thinking and start wishing.

You could go to sleep at night and never wake up again.. you wouldn't know any difference.. but that's what sort of scares me... you want some meaning and eternal worth of your life.. not just dead, and that's it.. better than burning in * for all eternity I suppose..

It's not the best deal, but surely you'd rather live and be destined to die than never live at all.

I feel very relaxed about it all. To date I have lived a very lucky and happy life and ive got so much out of it. I feel far too young to die now but even if I did I would be content with my lot.

When i think about it I always end up feeling more for those left behind, which then drives me to think about boring stuff like life insurance and telling my wife where our savings are kept, etc. Also I am a big believer in some sort of positive afterlife so that is a bonus as well! Keeps it exciting

The main thing i worry about dieing is my kids, will they be ok. Its a * up world out there and all sorts of mad * crosses my mind concerning them if im not here to protect them.

As for dieing and how itll happen, i dont think of that much TBH because its out of anyones control. It could be over in an instant or be a slow process dieing with a sickness. All i know, i want to live forever, if not forever, atleast live till im 100. Will it happen, who knows. All i know i, i hope ill log back in here in in the year 2080 for everyone to wish me a happy 100th birthday.

Is there an after life, heaven or other, who knows. I believe there isnt a heaven or afterlife but might be something other than what our brains can process.

    * this, its a sat morning and after working hard all week, the last thing i want to be thinking about is dieing, after lifes and heaven.

Only a materialistic person would immediately default to ‘last day on earth = spend money’.

The rest would take it to mean to spend time doing what you love with who you love.

It will come as a welcome reprieve from this life.

Not having to * about getting my hole, eat, drink, sleep, work for little money. Death will be welcome when the time is right.

You don't remember coming into this life do you?.........Well for most of us we wont know anything about it when we exit it. We were nothing before and we will return to nothing and I find that a comforting thought. We appear for a while and then we go....I can deal with that :)

Used to be fine with it but sometimes now it terrifies me. Particularly in work when I see an older patient's age on their record and I start to wonder whether I will live to that age and how much I don't want to die etc.
