Have any refs been told to look at the screen and not gave the penalty? I feel like every time they are told to review a penalty they always change the decision, so if they gave one and have to go over and look they dont give it and if they dont give one and have to go over and look they do give it.

The reviewers who are telling the refs must be saying they think the decision was wrong.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if the * still gives another pen Bob.

That ref needs shot, fkn terrible decision and for me he's knocked Portugal out don't think they'd win it, but sometimes you need a bit of luck of the draw.

Otherwise if the ref gives a decision, then the VAR team watch it and agree with him, they aren't hardly going to tell him then to come over and watch it.
There is perhaps pressure on the ref that he may feel he has * up - but then that is exactly what the VAR is there for, for someone to tell him that he * it.

 

I think the Portuguese will get found out next round and expect the Spaniards to kick on!!

The Ref at that Iran penalty though he watched it for a good minute and may not have thought it was a penalty but if he's been told to look he must think the other guys thought it was and if he says it's not he'll end up blacklisted and binned from the tournament.

Why does the ref need to go and watch the footage anyways? Should he not trust the guys in the room to tell him the correct decision?
