There is a distinct difference between even the City and Monchengladbach matches last season never mind Real Madrid and someone like Basel or Olympiakos. In everything; the build up, the anticipation, the atmosphere, the lot.

    Benfica and two powerhouses please.

Every time we draw Benfica we qualify.

I want Celtic playing in Europe after Christmas. A Europa final or a Champions League quarter-final would have plenty anticipation.

Easiest draw possible. This club deserves knockout football.

That being said, if we're * anyway I'd love Real

I'd say an English team to get it right round all those dickheads who constantly * on about us but we could litteraly win the whole thing and those * would find a way to discredit us.

Would love a trip to Dortmund, be some craic!

    Any combination of-

    Benfica/Spartak
    Porto/Sevilla
    Basel/Olympiakos/Besiktas/Anderlecht

Should stand us in good stead for the last 16.

Posted this in the Champions league thread but seems fitting for here too.
Here's how I'd view our potential opponents.

    Pot 1:
    Real Madrid
    - Avoid. Would be nice to see the world's best play in CP, but we'd be hammered home and away.
Bayern - Avoid. Couldn't see us getting anything off them. * the glamour.
Chelsea - I'd rather avoid but would be an interesting tie.
Juventus - Again, couldn't see us getting much here. Would rather avoid.
Benfica - Could probably see us taking a point, or maybe 3, if we're lucky, at home.
Monaco - Their team has been stripped down since last year, still a lot of talent there but could see us taking something over 2 games.
Spartak Moscow - Probably the easiest tie, Not inconceivable to see us taking 4 points off them.
Shakhtar Donetsk - As above, could take 4 points off them with a couple of barnstorming performances.

    Pot 2:
    Barcelona
    - Just naw. Not again
Atlético - Avoid, could maybe hope for a point at home, at best.
PSG - No thanks. Don't wanna see that wee * Neymar in CP again.
Dortmund - The only "glamour" tie I'd be happy to see. Tough games but 2 of the best sets of fans in the world.
Sevilla - My 2nd preference after Porto, strong team but could see us snatching something over the 2 games.
Manchester City - * off. No interest in playing them again.
Porto - First preference! Probably the weakest team in the pot. Still a tough one.
Manchester United - Avoid. They're coming good now. Wouldn't fancy our chances of getting much.

    Pot 3:
    Napoli
    - Avoid. Toughest team in the pot, imo.
Tottenham - Fun tie, but would rather an easier one.
Basel - Don't know much about them recently tbh. Not as intimidating as some other names though so I'd be satisfied enough with them.
Olympiacos - Arguably the weakest in the pot. Could see us taking points off them home and away.
Anderlecht - Would take this, one of the weaker teams in the pot.
Liverpool - Would be a very very interesting tie, but, again, I'd prefer an easier route.
Roma - Another tough one, would rather avoid.
Besiktas - Don't like the idea of going to Turkey. Could probably take 3 points off them at home though.

    Ideal draw:
    Spartak
    Porto
    Olympiacos
    Celtic

    Nightmare draw:
    Bayern
    Barca
    Napoli
    Celtic

What I would like in qualification terms
    Pot 1 - Spartak
    Pot 2 - Anyone
    Pot 3 - Anderlecht

What I think we'll get (Group of Death again)
    Pot 1 - Real
    Pot 2 - Paris
    Pot 3 - Napoli

The groups of death are even worse this year due to the sides in pot 2. :56:

    Gonna be interesting.

The worst team in each pot. Save the glamour ties for the last 16 and quarter final :50:

    Easiest possible.

Hate hearing folk in work say they want a glamour draw. Nope, the glamour is in the champions league not a thumping.

    Spartak/Porto and Anderlecht, I'd love.

Our luck we'll get Madrid/PSG/Napoli. Always the same.

All the other clubs will be looking to avoid us from pot 4. That's another way to look at it.
