Just had a look on eBay and they go for good money.

Some of the Sega Dreamcast prices are crazy.

Yes, the guy knew what he had. It was boxed and had three games. Was in very good condition(the box anyway). He had a bit of cardboard with £150 on it. There would be very little chance of him selling it for anything near that, if I had any nostalgia for the thing I might have tried seeing what he would accept for it.

The XBOX was actually one of my favourites along with the Wii, I've stuck with PlayStation for the last two generations because it's what my mates play, but I remember thinking the XBOX controller was better and that there were better games for it at the time.

My sister had a Nintendo 3DS as well which I would have played a good bit on, always enjoyed the Mario games on it.

Wish I took better care of my consoles and games, only one in my list that is playable is my PS4.

Could probably get the Wii going but I've no games or a controller for it than I can find, traded them all in.

Would love to have all my old stuff to play.

It pretty much flopped because of Sega's reputation with the Saturn in America after they released it 4 months early without telling a * load of retailers including Walmart. Some retailers then refused to stock Sega products because they weren't told about the launch while some of their competitors were then Sony undercut the price with the PS1 by $100 with one Sony guy actually walking on stage at E3 that year saying "$299" and walking straight off again. Sega were pretty much * from then on and although the Dreamcast was a great console it was too far ahead of its time. The infrastructure of the internet just wasn't good enough to support online gaming at the time, broadband was basically in its infancy and people just plugged the Dreamcast into their phone line and used a slow dial up connection. But with it's online gaming and social media features through the Dreamarena service it pretty much shaped the way the next gen consoles (PS3 and Xbox 360) would go, you could probably say that the Dreamcast came a console generation too early.
