If you said chipper in Glesga you’d get bullied to death. Literally never heard it said until this thread a couple of year ago.

When home in Belfast it's the chippy, when back home in Mayo it's the chipper! Funny the difference in names for certain things in same county

In Belfast a kiss is a kiss, in Mayo it's a shift. Couldn't believe what I heard when I first moved here when a fella I know said to his teenage son how many girls did he shift in the Disco. I thought he asked his son how many girls he banged. I was like *, they are very liberal down here haha.

Haha,ya couldn't beat Michelles. I've yet to taste a chicken fillet Burger as good as the ones they sold back in the day when I lived there. Had one every night standing down there after a few joints. They where great!

Slightly off topic but Scottish chippy's are so much better than English ones.

I've had a few down there and they've all been barkin'

They all seem to use frozen chips.

I don't get why anyone would pay a Chippy to do something that you could easily do yourself at home with a chip pan and a bag of McCains.

    Aye, definitely.
I did have a brilliant fish supper in central London but it was from a seafood restaurant called ‘Fish!’. Yet to have one I love from a normal chippy.
