can't remember my first time at Parkhead, was over 40 years ago in black & white, my Bhoy couldn't come for the last huns game so I brought a good friend who's been a man utd season ticket holder of over 20 years, this is part of a txt he sent me later that night, his first trip to Celtic Park,"Without a hint of hyperbole that was one of the best football days of my life. The entire trip was a dream.Social club, stadium, atmosphere. Been to everton/Liverpool/spurs/city/united, but nothing so powerful, ancient that you know was there before football, Just awesome" another convert to the true faith of our fathers, Celtic.

Got nervous as * for some reason. 1990/91 ish, didn’t know where my folks were taking me in the car, it was a surprise. School holidays so we actually away in the caravan somewhere.

Driving around and I didn’t have a clue where we were or where we were going. Then saw the floodlights reaching up above the buildings in the distance. Began to click and butterflies started going.

It wasn’t even for a game. It was pre-season and my mum and dad had arranged a wee tour so I actually got to meet the players too as they had been in training along at Barrowfield and some were out on the pitch too, something you’d never see now! Got my annual signed by the squad, and the gaffer himself, Cesar! Photos the lot! Completely in awe of the place, the trophies, the pitch, the terraces, and couldn’t wait to go back for a game!

Got to be honest back in the 90s and early 2000s the area was an utter shithole, I thought I was walking through Sarajevo, so arriving wasn’t the pleasure it is today. The first sighting of the stadium itself though was amazing, and always is. Standing there like a spaceship in the midst of an urban wasteland.

awright I will say it before I get insulted ..

the sandbag towers with the anti aircraft ack ack guns were disconcerting as were the barrage balloons , all the men in military uniform were very smart . was a lean time for us as most of the first team were away fighting for country , rather surprising was the fact the entire rangers team were all in positions in the shipyard canteens and were spared the horrors , they ultimately were the dominant force in Scotland 1939-1945 winning everything .

My first game was against Dundee in 1988 away can remember everyone stopping at Lornskirk I think.

Went to the jungle many times but first game I can really remember was against Falkirk I think and Mo Johnstone got it mega verbals and I didn’t understand why!

Season book first season was 94/95 at hampden. But walking into Celtic park in 1995 a hot summers day vs Newcastle and only the main stand and the north stand was surreal.

My uncle john and big Liam dowling ran the McConnell’s CSC so we got a full block in 101 rows Q to T in the new north stand but watching it being built was immense never
Forget the first match it was complete in 1998 we beat Croatia Zagreb 1-0 Darren Jackson scoring!

First time I went to the stadium was shortly after the new stands had been built, the JS wasn’t built and we had the wee temporary stand. I remember my Dad asking a steward if we could go in and look around lol. Also remember the old Irn Bru factory.

First game I went to was against Dunfermline. Sure I’ve posted the highlights video on here before. I sat in the LL lower and I just remember a feeling of complete awe looking at the stadium. I probably spent more time looking at the stands and the fans than watching the game. I loved every second of it and I’ve still got the first scarf my Dad bought me before the game. I’ll be buried with that.
