In sub-aqua parlance it means I'm going up to the surface. Touching your forefinger to your thumb (making a circle) means OK or I understand.

Yes for the top hats. Hooligan is more or less true. It was a family called Hoolihan and they were * right down to the Ma. They were never out of trouble and were barred from most premises in London. I think a lot is down to this family for the no Irish signs on boozer doors etc in Victorian London.

The first CD pressed in the US was Bruce Springsteen's 'Born in the USA'

On a slight tangent, the first CD I ever bought was also the last vinyl I ever bought. I dropped the * whilst unwrapping it and it skited along the ground causing a big scratch. It was just the excuse that a single man with cash on the hip needed to dive out and buy one of those new fangly CD player things that everyone was going on about.

I wouldn't expect anyone to know the second part but in case you're interested:

Yes and trolls etc. When laying a road in Iceland, if the workers come to a rock or tree, they build the road around it in case they upset natures fairies. 100% true.

The word " and " can be used 5 times in a row in one sentence and still be grammatically correct.

Will give answer below, because it's on Google ,so think about it?

The landlord of the dog and duck wanted his sign repainted. When the job was done, he wasn't happy

He wrote to the sign writer..
You didn't leave enough space between dog and and, and, and and duck .

It seems a fair question, 'Where are they all?'
For me I think the 6.9 trillion possible communicable civilisations is a pretty big number if they were all to appear at the same time, unfortunately, if we spread that number of civilisations over the lifespan of the Universe @ 14.6 billion years & also take into effect that galaxies are speeding apart (except the Milky Way & Andromeda, who will collide) from eachother at collossal speeds, they're may be a valid point to say 'they were here we just missed them' by a few hundred million years. Mars may have been inhabited previously but our two possible timelines are separated by eons & eons.
Civs come & they will surely go, our very own is running that risk with Nuclear arsenals. Some predict the human race will be extremely lucky to make it to the 25C, only another 400 years.
It's a hard question to answer satisfactorily, that's why it's called a paradox, but I personally think the Universe has, does & will harbour life, but to be in the same ' relative' neighbourhood at the same time & at a relatively similar technological scale to contact the other civilisations, the odds would still be astronomical I'd imagine. Hope that kind of makes some sense... I'm not Sheldon!:50:

Looking through past Bundesliga winners, totally forgot that Rapid Vienna had won the German Bundesliga and cup.

Find that quite interesting, along with the Yugoslav League. Would probably be in the top 5-6 Euro leagues if it was still around.

Billy the Kid was of Irish descent, both parents were Irish immigrants. He was baptised at St Peters RC Church in NY City.

150 years + later the parish priest of St Peters was also Padre of the NYFD and was amongst the first rescuers killed in the collapse of the Twin Towers.

I thought that the term Hooligan was a bastardisation of the name Houlihan and came about because of the English impression of Irish navvies being heavy drinkers and savage fighters

I remember reading or hearing somewhere that the highest paid sportsman of all time was a Roman chariot racer who, adjusted for todays currency, earned around $15 billion from racing. That is a mind boggling amount of wealth, especially in ancient Rome.

Here's another mad wee piece of trivia I read about the other day. During WWII Korean farmers were pressed into the Imperial Japanese Army. A group of 4 of these Koreans were captured fighting the Soviets and were then transported west to fight for the Red Army against the Germans. They were again captured and forced to defend the Normandie coast for the Germans and were there during D-Day.

It is delicious though, as the local saying goes; "smells like *, tastes like heaven".
