Scott Sinclair!

No it’s because we know he has it in his locker but isn’t reaching the heights of last season, the fact he has no direct competition isn’t helping due to the fact he has had virtually no rest at all. But if other players can be criticised then so can he doesn’t matter if he is a high profile signing so to speak.

 

Not too worried about his form tbh

There were times last year where he was in and out of games even though he was having a great season.

It shoudln't be forgotten he is our top goalscorer, not just domestically, but even more importantly, in Europe too. In fact, we wouldn't even be in the CL were it not for Sinclair.

 

We know he has it in his locker, we also know there are many reasons that can be attributed to his poor run of form. I didn't once suggest he should be immune from criticism because he was a high profile signing, I suggested the criticism is harsh given the three or four reasons I gave, which I believe are resulting in him struggling to reach the same heights as last year.

 

I think that when he isn't scoring, he isn't doing much else. Could maybe do with serious competition for his position.

 

Fair enough, and I do still think him not having direct competition and very little rest is a big reason he has been poor. When he first arrived we got a player that was hungry to show his worth, he has now slumped to being dropped domestically and moaning to the press about being double teamed, he needs to get back his focus and putting in the performances that won him POTY imo.

 

Jonny Hayes lol

 

He’s had quite a lot of rest, the start of the season has been stop start with international breaks and he isn’t one. More breaks than the majority of our squad.

Plus in recent weeks he has been in and out of the team. I don’t think it’s fatigue, unless it’s mental.

For genuine competition in the position, we need so much better than Hayes. There's nobody in the world who thinks Hayes could contribute and have the sort of season Sinclair had for us- and remember, he's still our top scorer this season! No manager in the world of football would rather have Hayes than Sinclair. If we are to become a side that rises to the next level, which is what Rodgers wants and talks about, I think we literally need to stop making signings like Jonny Hayes. He's just not good enough competition for Sinclair.

 

Hayes has just had his best performance in a Celtic shirt.. with the amount of games we have he may still prove his worth domestically.

That being said I'd like to add another RW/LW of real quality in Jan. Don't want the Paddy situation next summer during the qualifiers. Unless we can get Paddy on a permanent deal in Jan..

I am sure someone will have brought that video to Scotty's attention. I know England is not immune from racism or racists, but I do wonder what Scotty thinks to himself when he sees stuff like that. He must wonder what kind of place he's living in. Hopefully he takes the Neil Lennon approach and uses their racism as motivation to beat them over and over again where it matters - on the pitch.

 

Still the best player in Scotland by a country mile, regardless of form.

I kind of think the team as a whole is going through this tbh we haven't been terrible but a step down from last season, the good thing is we are still in a brilliant position on all fronts.
