Not doubting you mate but I would like to see some quotes. If it's the case then it's a great boost for the final.

A Fifa spokesperson said: ““It is not compulsory to release players outside an international window or outside the final competitions included in the international match calendar.

“As the FIFA U-20 World Cup is not included in the international match calendar there is no compulsory release of players.”

Just watching man city tonight cant see Paddy making to many inroads into that team. Leroy Sane, Raheem Sterling, Nolito, Kevin De Bruyne, Jesus Navas. And I would be pretty sure Guardiola will add to that in the summer. Roberts could well be up for grabs. Hopefully.

Roberts is best served in England for the next few seasons. This is thinking from his perspective, he might not walk into the city team, but he could walked into a PL team. He's young and denying him his chance isn't fair. Let paddy follow his dream.

After a few seasons he can come back, preferably for the season we make 10, more mature, composed and developed.

Probably be up to Paddy what he wants to do and we should respect his decision either way.

Winning a treble seems like it would be a better experience for him. Surely his international manager could understand that?

Meanwhile, Celtic are set to hold talks with Manchester City and the English FA over Roberts. The Hoops winger has a club v country dilemma as the Under-20 World Cup Finals in South Korea clash with the Scottish Cup Final on May 27, when Celtic will face Aberdeen.
Rodgers said: “Between Manchester City, ourselves and England we’ll find the solution for him.
“The kid loves it here, but at the same time I respect he’s been involved in a campaign with England.
“He’s happy either way but he’s not our player. We have to speak on it.”

I'd think winning a professional senior level cup competition you've worked hard to help the team progress in all season would be much more appealing to Paddy over a youth tournament.

The thing is as well he's a far better option than Navas, Nolito and arguably the most over rated player of all time, Sterling.

Hes not even a regular in our side and he has to displace the might James Forrest. I really cant see him making it at City, the other players are very well established under Guardiola.

But Patrick Roberts isn't Jason Denayer and his future shouldn't be put down on someone elses career and the opportunities he had.

Man City fans seem to think so.

Checked their forum and majority want him to get a chance under Pep.

Given the opportunity I think he'd outshine those 3. Average players at best. The first 2 have hardly kicked a ball and Sterling is gash. Folk who rate him are either closet City fans or have fully bought into the "greatest league in the world" guff.

I think right now PVP Sterling may edge it, however you can see in Paddy's play the way he can beat players, even beating City's defense sometimes with ease, the eye for a pass he has as well, * christ some of the assists he's had whilst with us are beautiful, this is something I think Sterling doesn't really have.

So there is potential IMO for Paddy to be a better all round player than Sterling for me, Paddy either through goals or assists seems to have a bit more of a final product that if developed further could make in integral to England's National team.

But he will have to leave City to achieve that, whether that is to us or to a decent attacking team (which TBH there isn't many) so he has some big choices to make.

He isn't Denayer but Jason Denayer won young player of the year and looked the real deal. We were raving about him. Look at him now. Playing midfield for Sunderland who are rock bottom of the PL. There is a lesson there for Roberts. If he is being loaned out again or surplus to requirements here is the best place for him. Especially with Rodgers record in developing young players.

Can't see Roberts making it in England. It's become all about athletes down there and the only really small players that excel down there are incredible physically.

Paddy no matter what he does simply won't be able to get to the speed or the agility that players like Hazard, Mane, Sterling, Sanchez etc. Have.
