He didn't play well, but who is surprised? Playing away in kazakshtan in a play off 2nd leg with his experience level.

He should have been looked after by Lustig and Bitton either side of him - two experienced european players and they let him down. They both bottled it and of course Ajer shat the bed. He had an unfortunate own goal and he would of been thinking "ah *" and then chaos ensues in the 2nd half.

I wouldn't judge him on tonights performance. I would however judge Bitton, Lustig and Brown - they need to take a look at themselves.

Agreed. Pretty much the same from me,
He played okay, considering his experience at this level.

What was required ,was an experienced defender alongside him, talking him through the game.

Ajer will learn from this and only get better.

Excellent post but i certainly wasn't expecting Bitton to look after him. Ajer is by far the more experienced defender. They both needed looking after.

Lol. We're talking about Ajer, who is a defender, who was poor. Ur then talking about an experienced midfielder brown who isn't a defender, who's the captain. It's been a good day but ur all over the place just like the defence was.

Hate to say I told you so with this lad but the signs were all there, he has a ton of potential but he isn't ready to play at European level. Yet.

Has nowhere near enough experience in general never mind at centre half.

Not blaming him at all but it's clear to see he's got plenty to go to be considered a reliable European option for Celtic. I could see that from the first Rosenborg game but everyone was high on him because he's a young guy and we kept a clean sheet. Bendtner played him on more than 1 occasion at Parkhead.

    You're talking complete nonsense.

You said "he's been found out" because he had a poor game (nowhere near as bad as you seem to think btw). I said Brown also had a bad game, so is that him now pish as well? Their position has * all to do with anything.

You're writing a 19 year old boy off after 1 match. A match where his more experienced defensive partners were * hopeless and Brown in front of him had a shocker.

I hope that sinks in to your brain...or is it too much to comprehend?

He needs a solid experienced centre back next to him, especially to help him through a tough game like tonight. Deserves a run in the team ahead of Bitton.

Douglas; Balde, Mjallby, Valgaeren; Agathe, Lennon, Lambert, Petrov (Moravcik, 66min), Thompson (Hartson, 78); Sutton, Larsson

You just know when a team is not good enough when they lose 0-2 to a team from Norway. Douglas saved a penalty so at least he cannot be blamed. Was any of that team Celtic class?

Celtic away in Europe was never a great stage to shine on.

I thought he was fine. His confidence will probably be shattered because of that own-goal, but hopefully he picks himself up and becomes a regular.

Says the man writing in text speak and unable to understand basic English.:56:
I clearly implied the defence wasn't good enough, I am merely putting into context and perspective his age and inexperience.

Controversial but I'm still not sure he's 100% a centre half..

I know he say's it, Brendan say's it and it's his position now but I watched him in his age group against Barca last year and he bossed it in the middle..

I still think in his career sometime, he may go forward. Big potential still whatever way he goes..

    Definitely needs
He's only being playing in that position for a season and half of it in the development league and half on loan at Kilmarnock. I think he's played around 20 first team games in total at CB, he's essentially a midfielder in the process of being converted to CB.

There's no way he's ready for European games yet in that position.

The boy needed a really experienced centre back beside him in that game talking him through it. Playing him and Bitton in hindsight was mental. Lustig could easily have dropped in and Ralston to right back.

Ralston has even less experience than Ajer though. That would have been worse.

Absolutely no worries about him filling in domestically this season.

Away from home in the CL is a bridge too far for him this year though.

Still got high hopes for him.
