BR: "I thought Dedryck Boyata looked real quality today. He looked like the young player at @ManCity I knew.

BR: "I saw him play against Didier Drogba as a really young player & he was fantastic - strong, quick, aggressive, kept it simple."

BR: "In the last few weeks in training, he has been great, and today he was really focused with no mistakes. He was very good."

Did well against Raith Rovers, but that still doesn't make him good enough. Should go

Had a decent game today albeit against inferior opposition. Still can't see him with a future at Celtic though.

I hope the Barca scout in attendance was suitably impressed.

He's not a shockingly bad player. Said it before but there are attributes there for a decent CB. He should have left City a lot earlier.

Played well but not tested at all. Still needs to go and wish him luck when he does.

    Completely agree.

He's very good in the air, quick and strong. Just a bombscare with the ball at his feet.

He lacks confidence and I've no confidence in him during big pressure matches..

He does have very good attributes but will probably always have Efe syndrome..

He did, strolled through it. It's when he's pressured the problems start

His hair looks good though, he'd be a starter in my good looking hair 11.

Under Ronny though, * knows how he'd do under Brendan, still think he needs to go though. He'll be on a bit of a packet.

Had a decent game today, was unlucky with the header off the bar.

TBH I would like to see what Brendan can bring out in him. I think he's got the talent, he just needs the concentration.

There's others a would like to see move on before him.

RENDAN RODGERS last night hailed Dedryck Boyata — and revealed he has given himself a Celtic lifeline.

Boyata made just his second start under Rodgers as the Celts dumped Albion Rovers in the Scottish Cup fourth round.

The Belgian flop, 26, still has two-and-a-half years of his deal left after costing £1 million-plus from Manchester City in June 2015.

But it had been thought he was definitely on his way out of the club along with the likes of Nadir Ciftci, Efe Ambrose and Scott Allan.

However, while the Celts were hardly under pressure at the back against Rovers, Boyata still did enough to impress Rodgers.

The Hoops gaffer said: “I thought Dedryck Boyata looked real quality. He looked like the young player I knew at Man City.

“I saw him play against Didier Drogba when he was young and he was fantastic.

“He hasn’t had a chance to play but in the last few weeks in training he has been great.

“He was focused and didn’t make any mistakes. He has all the attributes I love because he is big, he can defend and can play.

“In the past he has made mistakes and you can’t make mistakes. But now this might be his moment. He has the shirt and has played well — so now stay in the team.”

He has the shirt? I fully expect Erik and Jozo back together on Wednesday

Are we just refusing to give him a chance. He's played 2 games all season and we haven't conceded in either of them.

We finally have a solid and settled pairing in Erik and Jozo if one of those go down then fair enough give him his chance otherwise he isn't getting in the team
