You were happy because we needed experience and a different option up front, same as me.

Now you're attempting to blame Deila for signing the thing you were happy about signing.

But it's everyone else trying to deflect blame from Ronny Deila not you trying to do the opposite :56:

Happy to admit I got it wrong but that's what it was based on. Did Ronny running his eye over him for two months not sway your opinion one way or the other?

It's hardly a Deila "shortcoming" when he signed a player that both you and i were happy enough with at the time to come in and attempt to offer us a different dimension upfront - particularly when we more or less only had one man up front scoring goals i.e. Griffiths.

Kazim-Richards offered a wee bit of strength and hold up play, even if he offered * all in terms of goalscoring.

Cole was the better looking of the two (on paper anyways due to his past experience), shame he was more unfit than Paddy McCourt after a night out at a Pogues concert.

I agree mate, all I'm saying is I reckon Ronny may have had something to do with that transfer:50:

Of course he did, it was him that signed him!

In hindsight, the signings of Cole and that other muppet with the wig were awful. But more a sign of the times imo that two men brought in to help take the onus off of wee Griff were a has-been, and a * in a wig, as opposed to us actually going out and buying a semi-decent striker.

I think we got what we lacked, turned out he'd became a cart horse. Very little lost or gained by the Cole signing.

We all know why CKR was signed and it certainly wasn't Deila's suggestion.

    Dudu Dahan.

Ambrose, Kayal, Bitton, Gershon, CKR, Balde. Our managers haven't coincidentally always wanted the players he represents!

Starting to think he has a dodgy homemade video of Lawwell stashed away.

Ah come on now, you're not suggesting these players were signed against our managers wishes, surely?

Nup, I said it wasn't his suggestion. Which it clearly wasn't.

Like Balotelli wasn't Rodgers suggestion at Liverpool, CKR wasn't Deila's.

The manager can't always shoulder unlimited responsibility for working within a framework whether we're made aware of it or not!

You can read between the lines as far as Dahan is concerned, there's financial jiggery pokery going on somewhere.

I think the situations with Brendan and the transfer committee may have been slightly different to Deila being suggested to that there is a familiar agent to the club with a striker on his books that can be brought into the club both quickly and fairly cheaply.

I dunno if I would say there's anything untoward with the Dudu Dahan deals - probably more down to the fact that he's build a repertoire with someone at the club, and was always in contact with his items for trade.

'Repertoires' with football agents aren't built on friendship! :84:

Their rapports are built on pounds, shillings and pence.

Lawwell's never struck me as the type to spend money frivolously, spending millions on guys he knows for a fact are unwanted, just for the buzz of it?

I think Dahan's just an agent we have close links with, we know he's easy to deal with and when we're looking to fill gaps in the squad he'll be there with some sorta stopgap.

I don't think Lawwell would just spend millions for the sake of it to please some agent.

Of course agents are only in it for the money.

Precisely the reason why they build up raports with clubs and officials, and working relationships.

Precisely my point - for the convenience factor.

Look at it this way - we used Dahan for the Ambrose, Kayal and Bitton signings. They were seen to be working out well at one point or another. Probably approached him to see if he had any players available for a stop gap signing when it came to that gershon *, then probably done the same with Balde et al.
