I’m not really expecting much from this guy, any time soon. Clearly has some ability but Musonda is a perfect recent example of that not being enough on its own.

If he works hard and gets to the level required in training, he’ll get that chance. Makes perfect sense that Rodgers won’t play him until he believes he’s ready to make a contribution to the team’s results. We’re not a development side that can just give games out to players who haven’t shown they deserve to play (yet).

Havent seen this kid kick a ball in anger for the first team and im already bored of him.

Not his fault obviously but so sick of these aussie pundits constantly whinging about his selection.

Comes on a sub in a handful of games for the world beating football institution that is the * socceroos and all of sudden these zoomers are trying to pick BR's team for him.

    When hes ready hes ready.

Meanwhile these * should shut their * holsters and stick to cricket punditry.

Bullshit. Neymar was widely hyped and known in Brazil even at the age of 15. Brendan talks too much * in interviews, I hardly believe anything he says at this point

I think the boy needs his chance to prove himself.

I think it will be his management leaking all this press about the clause in his contract and *.
Was the Australian manager not over talking to Brendan about him and his lack of game time aswell?

Brendan needs to stop coming out with these daft statements.

One minute he's saying no-one had heard of Coutinho and Neymar at 14/15, the next he's saying Chelsea tried to do a deal for Coutinho but he ended up at Inter Milan.

Oh and Neymar was invited over the Real Madrid youth team at 14.

I'd be shocked if he made a dent in the first team, not because of a lack of talent, but because he hasn't had a sniff yet, it's mid Oct and we are just struggling through a barren spell that lacked everything he's supposed to offer.

The "fitness" thing was a cop out, said as much at the time. It doesn't take this long to get a 19 y/o lad, fresh off a World Cup, and who was in the early stages of an A-League pre-season fit.

If he was ripping Lustig apart in training, skipping past Gamboa, looking good against KT - He'd of been in the squad.

Took Rogic about 3 years mate. We never managed it with Paddy McCourt.

Every players different. The boy had never played a full 90 minutes in the A league. That tells me their are fitness issues, because he is talented.

Some would argue we've never managed it with Rogic :giggle1:

Just watched the replay of the Kuwait game in which he got 20 odd minutes. Made a huge impact off the bench. For a guy who's had no first team action since the World Cup he looked fabulous and linked up extremely well with Rogic.

Kuwait were fairly crap, but Arzani is waaaay too good to not even make the bench at Celtic.

Never played 90 minutes for club nor country.

Aye we'll shoe horn him in to the side so some dickwit in australia can * himself off when hes blowing out his * after 30 minutes.

BR should come out and tell these * to do one.

These aussie pundits really have no * clue at all.

Even craig moore had to explain to them that "he has to fight and learn" after some * goblin called robbie slater claimed "something has gone wrong... very very wrong." Never even heard of the *.

    Absolute blowhards

Regardless of talent he’ll be lucky to play this season and that’s more to do with the fact that successive Celtic managers don’t rotate the squad enough despite numerous first teamers beng atrocious for months.

In the Summer Rogic would get subbed and Arzani would come on. Now they're both getting game time for Australia it works in our favor. The manager of Australia can try things out against Kuwait. We can't really just try things out for the time being.
So now it's been tried out and worked, it'll be duly noted. Might even give us a wee lift at some point in the season.

And at 14? Read the * quote man. And do you not think that maybe sides like Liverpool looking at him could be why he was widely known and reported at that age?

Either way, known in Brazil and breaking through the distinction is small. Not worth tearing down everything Rodgers says...

If you want to nitpick, there are tv specials from the brazilian media tipping his as the next Pele as early as when he was 13. You don't need a super genius scout with super powers to "discover" what any decently informed person in the football trade knows. As the guy stated above, Real Madrid had already offered a trial to him at that age.

Lee Congerton is a clown, his appointment is undefensable, and Brendan Rodgers should shut up and learn how to spot a CB

I agree the situation is not good for him or for the club and maybe he deserves a chance. But * Kuwait mate? What is a "huge impact"? Have you watched our games and imagined how he could be an improvement? It's not just his quality, is what the team needs and who is ahead of him. The case for him being too raw is very, very strong.

And yet in match day threads there has been a lot of moaning re the lack of someone creative who can run at players and get in behind. Arzani had two assists with his first three touches the other night, and was unrelentingly tormenting the defence.

Yes, Kuwait were not much chop, but Asian conditions are very difficult. Hard to play there, but he looked sharp.

It all comes down to how well he does in training.

Competition for places at Celtic is clearly more prominent than in the Aussie national team.

I stand corrected, but two very dangerous passes that could easily have led to goals. He caused havoc.
