    Brendan Rodgers has backed talented teenager Armstrong Okoflex to make a real impact at Celtic.

    The 16-year-old arrived from Arsenal during the summer transfer window and the Hoops boss in no doubt that Dublin-born attacker can be a huge success with the Premiership champions.


    Okoflex has lofty ambitions for himself and revealed earlier this month he is aiming to make his first-team debut before he turns 17.

    Rodgers appeared to echo those sentiments and admits the Celtic faithful could soon see him make his impact.




    The manager told the Celtic View : "I've seen a lot of Armstrong and I can see that he's a very talented boy.

    "The job for Armstrong, like it is for all really talented players, is making that transition from being a talent to being a top professional.

    "He's come here with a view of hopefully doing that. He's at a club where he's going to get an opportunity. You can see his qualities and his talents.


    It's not easy, he's only a 16-year-old boy moving up from London. But he's adapted really well which is good to see and hopefully he'll be able to play some games at some point soon.

    "That will be another nice, exciting step for him."

    Rodgers is the type of manager that would not say something like this unless he genuinely thought he could be good player for our first team in the future. Encouraging signs, hopefully we might get a look at him at some point this season.

    Rodgers has said birthday caird pish like that before about Kouassi, before proceeding to throw the boy in to our two hardest away games in Hearts and Zenit, and we’ve barely seen him since.

    Wouldn’t look too much in to the comments to be honest, he’s hardly going to say he’s *.
