Thought i would start a thread on this.

2016 is finally the year that Virtual Reality gaming will be released..

    The main Contenders are:

    HTC VIVE

    OCULUS RIFT

    PLAYSTATION VR

The rift and Vive are PC based and need an up to date rig....In order for VR gaming to run you need no less than 90 FPS (or it causes sickness).

HTC VIVE is bundled with Motion Controllers and Tracking Lighthouses (you can move around in a setup space with no lag.

I have been waiting on VR for many years and kept an eye on all these for years now,i finally pre ordered the VIVE (preference having space and movement)..I always wanted the Star Trek Holdodeck experience and this at least captures this.
The price however was an expensive -£800.

Anyways anyone been interested in this?
    The future of gaming?

The prices are expensive atm, however thats the first thing people look at and complain.

You are buying into the future of not just gaming but media/socialising/learning etc in a totally different way.

Think of this, how many times do you upgrade a phone? every 2 years people are paying about £600 (contract or not) overall £600 quid every 2 years,or what about a TV/Laptop/Tablet etc?

I agree that £800 is expensive but when you look at it that way it kinda changes your outlook on it.

I personally believe that this is about to change lives.About 20 years ago we didnt have the Technology/gaming/effort/sales etc....but its different this time around.

Another thing as well, dont know about some of you guys, but i getting bored ofthe same old games over and over,cod/battlefield/Fifa etc.......same old and boring as *...im looking forward to see another way of playing games

My only issue with VR is you cannot see what your doing.

If you have to press a certain button on your keyboard quickly (like F10 for example) it's not something you can do blindfolded basically.
If you have a racing rig and one of those button boxes.... you'll be having to peak under the headset every couple of minutes.
    That is where it fails.

The vive has a built in front facing camera,so when you have the headset on you can push a button and your real play area will appear, stunning addition and a seller.
It also scans your furniture so you cant fall into it.....there are different view modes as well...like a TRON mode appears.

But it still breaks the immersion. What's the point of having to keep jumping out from the world to press something?
Be as well just having a monitor.

Iv always dreamed of having a good quality pair of VR glasses in perfect picture to put movies etc on while on a plane. Current ones are all *. Hopefully these new VR glasses fix that.

Yes...the vive can play normal games in vr, it looks like you are playing on a massive theatre screen..

3d * confirmed to be awesome lol.

There is also a movie theatre app. ..where you are actually in a fully operating cinema. .3d effects are apparently stunning as is the room lighting. .
