I couldnt believe that some couldnt see what a player he was. His composure and physicality was leagues above anything we had at the time. Id never seen an opponent get the better of VVD throughout the course of a match.

Some even said Denayer was better. I didnt mind Denayer but he was nowhere near as dominant as VVD. Whats more is I seen John Sutton give Denayer a torrid time. Van Dijk was a different gravy. Deila just didnt have our defence organised.

For what its worth i look at Ajer and think he could be a top center back if he can get fit and a run of games. The way he runs out with the ball and is strong in the air. I think he could do a top job at defensive mid also. My mate who is a Killie fan said when he was on loan there he was a class apart and was marshallig the defence like a seasoned pro.
