£900,000 to £12,500,000 in 2 years whilst getting 2 good years out of him.

Very happy with this piece of business, despite understanding how good Vic is. As long as we get a decent chunk of it to buy a left winger and keep everyone else I am over the moon.

Look forward to watching the big man on MOTD next season :50:

Lennon said he has 3 or 4 players in mind, in terms of possible replacements for Victor. Hopefully the gears start turning quickly and we can get one in soon.

Delighted to receive £12.5 million for him, time to splash some more cash Celtic.

Celtic struggle to compete with other clubs financially, yet they have one of the biggest fanbases in the world, I would say that is staggeringly massive potential.

    That smile looks very forced.

He'll flop down there and Southampton will sell him back to us for £2m next year :icon_mrgreen:

Fewer of them than Cardiff offered, according to The Times.

He was asked the other day if he had a direct replacement lined up for Wanyama. He said naw, but said he had identified 3 or 4 good players.

:56: You gotta be joking I think he would have joined any club who offered him the money and do you think for one second that he would have left Celtic for Southampton or for that matter any other club in the premier league if Celtic were in playing in it and raking in the sort of money that 90% of the league don't deserve as they won't win anything at the end of the season. The premier leagues a joke full of over hyped teams and that's only the top six as for the rest of them they should count themselves lucky and when the pl does finally crash as it will nothing is forever, then we will see the real worth of the premier .:31:

By the way good luck vic.:50:

We wont splash the cash. With qualification not guaranteed for the CL it is too risky. If we spend a lot of cash then fail to qualify it would be disastrous. We need to be smart. We aren't even being challenged in the SPL there is no need to go all out in the transfer window. Rangers done that and look what happened.

That's true, seems he just wanted to go to the Premier League and I'd much rather go to Southampton than feckin Cardiff. No doubt he'll still be on a higher wage than we'd offer.

With all due respect, I'm a bit underwhelmed our best player went to Southampton even though I appreciate the direction Southampton seem to be moving in. Guess I just expected a top 6 team to come in for him. Good luck to Wanyama and Southampton anyway and enjoy having him while you have him, can see him going very far in his career.

But.... £12.5m, time to spend it like we did with McGeadys transfer fee and enjoy another year in the champions league!

I only mean £3-4 million, considering we just got £12 million I'd say that's reasonable and probably to be expected.

Its not comparable and about time the myth was stopped. They spent money they didn't have, we're looking to spend money we do have. Big difference.

Some quotes on Celtic from his interview on Saints Player:

When asked if he saw the move to Celtic as a 'stepping stone' to the Premier League (I know, I know) he paused uncomfortably then said: "Celtic was the big club. To me it was like my family there. They have played a big part for me to grow there as a player, and I'm just delighted they have given me a chance to be here.

"Yeah, it was really hard for me to make this decision [to leave Celtic] but I had to come here.

"I was unknown, and Celtic took me from Belgium. And like I said, Celtic has been very good for me and they are always in my heart because they have done a lot for me to be there, and where I am now."

Then the standard stuff about how lovely the toilets are at St Marys.
