Bid rejected according to their sporting director.

Parma and Rapid Vienna have also had bids turned down apparently.

20mil striker out and 2mil project in. It's the Celtic way these days .

We seem to be shopping in the same place as the huns which is criminal given what should be our clear financial advantage .

This guy could be anything so worth the punt but that's all it should be. At least half the Dembele money should be used to bring an instant impact player in.

I'm sure that Edouard was meant to be his replacement (knowing that we were getting rid of him at some point) but I agree that we should be spending a bit more on someone who could make an impact straight away.

Who knows? We actually still might seeing as it's only the first day that the transfer window is open :56:

I like the look of him and the fact that lubo is recommending him is a good thing. However I can see him slipping away as the biscuit tin mentality comes out again. Two good quality clubs also interested in him so he’ll probably go to one of them.

We are better than both Parma and Rapid albeit Parma play in a miles better league but without Europe, I think we put the cash they want infront of them he'll be coming to us

Recommendations from legends has had its times though, fat Ronaldo (Scheidt) and Henke (Bangura). Although granted Lubo is better than both.

That's a epl attitude right their if everyone had that attitude we would never have got 19 million for dembele.... De vries came from England gash Gamboa from epl crap... When we first bought izaguirre he came from a side in Honduras never heard of does that mean we don't buy him.... Wanyama came from a Belgian team that went into extinction does that mean we don't buy him when lustig first came was on a free from rosenborg same standard of league as our own does it mean we don't buy him.... Artur boruc from the polish league... That wasn't to great at the time does it mean we don't buy him. See where am going with this

He cost £400k due to a loophole in the transfer system.

I hope we get him, he appears to have some energy about him, something that was sadly missing against huns on Saturday

He'd need to either be 1 foot or 40 foot tall to score from our corners.

looks like he has good movement and can score with his head which we lack up front. the problem is we cant see his link up play to bring others in something dembele was great at.

Celtic set to complete TWO striker deals THIS WEEK - and winger Oliver Burke could follow
CELTIC are keen to complete TWO striker deals in the next week.

Brendan Rodgers is desperate to add more firepower to his squad after losing Moussa Dembele to Lyon on transfer deadline day in the summer and Leigh Griffiths to personal issues.

Odsonne Edouard has been Rodgers’ go-to man in attack, but the Celtic boss wants more bodies on board to help out.
And the club’s transfer chiefs are ready to back their manager by finalising two deals in the next seven days.

Starsport understand Celtic want to seal the arrival of Ivorian striker Vakoun Issouf Bayo

They’ve bid £1.75m for the player, but his club Dunajska Streda want £2.3m.

Austrian outfit Rapid Vienna are also keen on the Ivory Coast Under-23 international, along with Turkish giants Galatasaray.

Bayo has scored 14 goals for Slovakian side Dunajska Streda this season.

He is due to fly into Scotland to meet Brendan Rodgers and to be shown around Celtic Park and Lennoxtown, if a deal can’t be agreed before the end of the week.

But Starsport understand Celtic are hopeful they can get a deal done for the 21-year-old hitman before Friday.

The Glasgow giants are also hoping to complete the loan arrival of Paris St-Germain striker Timothy Weah by the end of the week.

He wants to move to Parkhead, with the 18-year-old USA international now just waiting on his club to give the thumbs up.

A third deal being worked on by Celtic is a loan for West Brom winger Oliver Burke.

The Scotland international has lost his way at the Hawthorns but could head to north until the rest of the season if Celtic can stump up the majority of his wages.

West Brom will also demand a loan fee for Burke, who joined the club 18 months from RB Leipzig in a deal understood to be worth £15m.

The 21-year-old has made just six appearances for Darren Moore’s promotion-chasers this season.

Celtic return to action after Scotland's winter break against League One minnows Airdrieonians in the Scottish Cup fourth-round on January 19.

Looks like he'll fly in soon for a medical. Wish we wouldn't mess around so much on price. It just alerts everyone else. First time word gets out the deal should be done.
Hopefully we can get also the kid from PSG. Burke would be still pricey because of his wages but i think it would be interesting to have a look for a few games just to see.
Then we probably don't need to worry about anything other than defense. That's the tricky part.

Brendan sure does love him a black striker, don't he?

In all seriousness though, this guy must have been scouted by Congerton.......surely? :97:
