Galatasaray apparently just signed Fernando Llorente.
It seems Didier Drogba phoned him to sound him out about a move to
Drogba's former club Galatasaray. Different from the report that we've
put a concrete offer in. They might just have tapped him up.
He's also banned right now for slapping someone in a game.

    Immediate thoughts too.

Raw and technically average. I'd say £2m is generous.

Celtic will this week begin formal negotiations for the £2million transfer of Ivory Coast striker Vakoun Issouf Bayo.

Slovakian club Dunajska Streda last night confirmed that they have received a bid believed to be worth £1.75million from the Scottish champions.

The Slovaks want a fee in excess of £2.3m before agreeing to sell their top scorer, with sporting director Jan Van Daele telling Sportsmail: 'We confirm we have received an official offer from Celtic of which we acknowledged receipt. We are planning to start the negotiation process in due course.'

Sound we will end up upping the bid with another £10.50 and then drag it out till near the end, someone else will come in give them the asking price and agree terms and we will bid the asking price and say oh well we did try.

Hard to judge players on youtube videos, i remember being excited over bangura coming over because of how he looked on youtube. What i will say is i trust rodgers when it comes to attacking players.

This one is happening, 2 million quid. With him and Weah in we should see Edouard out left and Sinclair on the bench.

Why would we be panicking with 31 days left in the window?

As in all this should of been done at the start of the season but now that the Huns are up our * and Brendan got out thought by that novice we are starting to buy players like this. Does anyone actually think this lad has been properly scouted? Scored a few goals in some Diddy league so we will throw 1.75 million (peanuts) at the problem.. as I said * panic buy and will probably play about 3 games for us, another waste of money, like so many before. I've absolutely zero confidence in our transfer policy at the moment.

On the plus side if he turns out to be a super star we just have to turn our tri colours the wrong way about in support of him.

CELTIC signing target Vakoun Issouf Bayo is capable of emulating Moussa Dembele by scoring goals in Scotland and winning a move to a major club in Europe, according to Parkhead great Lubomir Moravcik.

The double treble winners have identified Bayo, the Ivorian striker who currently plays for Dunajska Streda in Slovakia, as a player they would like to sign during the January transfer window.

Brendan Rodgers, whose side was beaten 1-0 by Rangers in a Ladbrokes Premiership match at Ibrox on Saturday, has made bringing in two centre forwards his priority during the coming month.

Rodgers lost Dembele on the final day of the summer transfer window when the Frenchman signed for Lyon in a £20 million move. He is, too, currently without Leigh Griffiths, who has taken an extended break from football to address personal issues.

Rodgers was forced to field Mikey Johnston, a 19-year-old winger, up front at the weekend as Odsonne Edouard, his record £9 million summer signing, had failed to recover fully from an abductor injury.

The loan signing of Timothy Weah, the American teenager who is currently on the books at French giants Paris Saint-Germain, looks set to be completed in the coming days. The son of former Ballon d'Or winner George will agree a six month deal.

However, Lee Congerton, the head of recruitment at Celtic, has also identified Bayo, who would cost the Scottish champions in the region of £2 million, as a player who could increase Rodgers’ options in attack.

Moravcik has been impressed by the 21-year-old’s displays in his homeland this season and believes he would be a good signing.

"When Moussa Dembele came to Celtic he was nobody," he said. "After two years he moved to Lyon for £20 million. I think Bayo can do the same – come from nowhere, play well at Celtic and then move on to a top club in England or elsewhere in Europe."
