I havent watched an EPL game live in years. Couldnt give two * about this. As for the argument about the biggest game - it is without doubt El Classico.

I always look forward to Man U V Liverpool games but they do let you down almost all the time. Think theres a lack of local players or English players with a bit about them now to take it from normal game to more of a Derby. Guys like Neville, Keane, Ince, Carragher, Gerrard, Fowler with a bit of character about them or local players who you know like to get tore in a bit more for the fans.

Game of the day for me is between the same cities, different clubs. Would like for the Toffees to pull off a surprise today - wouldn't amount much to their standing, but It's nice to see City lose.

I have noticed a considerable decline over the years. There isn't enough "local" talent on the big clubs, unlike in Germany and Spain.

As soon as anyone in England is half decent they are made multi millionaires and by then a large majority think they've made it and never progress. Money's killed the hunger imo.

All players under 21 should only be giving say £500 a week. The rest into a savings account only accessible once over 21 or even 23 when you mature a bit. It'll keep them a bit more grounded. It'll never happen though.

England will need to come up with some kind of scheme to fix this, else mediocrity for the long haul.

There is no proper rivalry in these so called big English games anymore.

Interesting you mention that, the current top four in England have 36 English players in their first team squads compared to the top four in Spain who have 30 Spaniards.

Don't believe LaLiga has any nationality requirements beyond no more than 3 non-EU players, whereas England has a minimum number of players brought through in the country.

Germany's way out in front of both, something like 48.

Has James McCarthy been dropped or what?

No Gueye or Schneiderlin and there's a young boy starting.

Both McCarthy and Schneiderlin are available as subs. Hold on to the lead!

Admittedly I have not been following La Liga much in recent years, last I did Real Madrid and Barca had a fair amount more Spaniards in the starting 11. As for England, guess I'll rephrase that to the most successful clubs in recent years (domestic and European), City and Chelsea.

Me too man, used to love watching those United sides of the late 90s early 2000's battling it out with Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle etc etc. But it feels totally devoid of any passion these days IMO. Has all the bells and whistles but thats it.
