Don’t worry we will have Jozo, Hendry and Lustig as a back 3.

 

If we win and go through, Lawwell will think it's proof the players we have are enough and not want to invest.

If we lose and go out, no CL will be his excuse not to spend.

 

If we are comfortably beaten on Tuesday the fall-out will be nuclear.

 

Lustig, Jozo and Hendry, ffs i worry about Tuesday, this could be very very bad for us.

Well if today is anything to go on I would ensure Boyata played wether fit or not because they 3 Lustic, Jojo and Henry are not good enough

 

Forgot Ajer was suspended, * help us with that defence we'll need to rely on our attackers being on top form hopefully Dembele's fit and he and Edouard start.

 

I think we will score over there however, keeping a clean sheet with our defence?....no chance. What we need to go through is one of those crazy 2-2, or 3-3 games that sometimes happen !!!

 

Wasn’t very confident after the game then got better but after today’s farce at the back think we’ll get pumped

 

Why everyone blames Hendry.He is not experienced but he is tough, he is comfortable with the ball and rushes on man to man duels not taking many risks.Against Rosenborg he did very well,he even covered Ajer when he was too busy.Gordon praised him after the game at Trondheim among with Rodgers.We have to pick Lustig as a CB who is experienced and Gamboa as RB because he has speed.Tierney would protect Hendry as Left back and also will provide counterattacks.Rodgers has to teach the team how to steal passes while marking the opponent with their bodies and how to create defensive zones closing the gaps.We have to be careful as moving forward because the defense is being exposed.

AEK Athens are going to test us again.They will create a defensive zone 10-0-0 formation,they will seek for attacking football and possession in every chance but their defense won't be loosen at all.We can be confident not letting them to keep their possession because at midfield they have one player red carded and their leader is injured,so they will bring a new signing player in the field who is not going to be ready, but if we play a 4-1-4-1, 4-5-1 or 4-4-2 formation we can surely be dominant through the midfield towards to their enclosed defense.I have to warn our team that it will be extremely dangerous when AEK unleashing counterattacks through their wings,trhough their wings they will go speedy trying to pass the ball to their Striker near the box or try a medium range shot.We have to take headers and step on together synchronized inside their defensive area putting our bodies right.If we strike in Im confident we can get a penalty shot.
But be careful,even if we score their defense wont loosen in any case,so dont take that as an advantage of making quickly and risky counterattacks for another goal because our defense will be vulnerable again.

 

Got to try something different...

Usually I’d put up a team, but * knows what with the personnel available..

Maybe play Dembele at CB he’s our best defender at set-plays..

 

Looking forward to it anyway, would be great to win.

One thing that gives me hope is they aren't a very attacking team it seems, other than their goal at Celtic Park which was basically a clearance they rescued and then stuck in the net in the blink of an eye they never really came forward at all.

Could just have been as they were away and nervous but could be that they always play like that as they don't score many goals.

I'd probably be more worried if it was a team who were going to attack us and control the game against us where our arses could collapse and end up a meltdown but at least you imagine they won't be swarming all over us the heat could maybe help us as well by making it slower paced.

Tierney as a winger would be a massive mistake.The goalscorer of AEK has speed and it will cause me nightmares in counterattacks.They have capable wingers,when our defense get exposed they will sprint over the sides and it's possible we will concede the same way as we did in Celtic Park.Tierney and Gamboa are capable to stop them with their speed and defensive skills,we have to protect our Center back players through any direction.Tierney,Gamboa will keep their wingers at bay when Brown will protect our Center backs.We cannot be tricked again.We have to keep them away securing our defense while seeking to score at the same time.
4 defenders are needed.

4-1-3-2 formation maybe

 

I'd play Tierney at CB * it cannie be any worse than any of the other * there.

At least he'll play with a bit of heart.

Another thread the draw they got on Wednesday was identical to Partick coming up and getting a solid draw at parkhead 2 seasons ago we were all over them like a rash but dug in deep and parked the bus and what happened to Partick when we played them at fir Hill we tanked them hopefully same thing happens Tuesday

we are playing CL qualifications against a champion in their hot stadium,they won't fall so easy.We have to be careful

 

Think they will come at us & were gubbed.hearts bullied us

 

We have to score first in my opinion..

Go a goal down and this side is mentally fragile with the personell available..
