why is it funny? its not beyond belief that we would'nt score. Juve have a solid defence.

They topped a very hard group because the other teams dropped points. They drew 3 of their 6 games.

The only defender I'm worried about is Chiellini, and he could be injured for it. Thuram is a better defender than anybody in that team.

Don't get me wrong, they are a good team. I watched the Chelsea games. But they are very beatable and nowhere near 4th best in the world.

They destroyed Chelsea a few weeks ago. Won 3-0 but it easilly could have been 4 or 5. The only way I see us going through is a narrow win at home then defending like we did at the Nou Camp and hope we get a bit of luck.

At the moment, they are. As is Barcelona, which is why they are being horsed in the league.

As are Dortmund and Bayern Munich.

See my earlier comment, mate. I'm way out of touch with world football. Only get to see about 75% of Celtic games now :(

No one I know in Sweden likes football apart from one mate and he's just got a new GF and he's now disappeared off the face of the planet. Hate watching games alone.

Are people actually series in being put off going because it's dangerous?

You are aware the reputation Glasgow has.

I think they are better than the team we faced back then. You just compared their weakest area with their best area back then.

    THEN - NOW
    Buffon - Buffon
    Zambrotta - Lichsteiner
    Montero - Barzagli
    Thuram - Caceres
    Iuliano - Chiellini
    Ferrara - Bonucci
    Pessotto - De Ceglie
    Birindelli - Isla
    Paramatti - Marrone
    Zenoni - Giaccherini
    Davids - Pirlo
    Tacchinardi - Asamoah
    Conte - Vidal
    Nedved - Marchisio
    Maresca - Pogba
    Del Piero - Giovinco
    Trezeguet - Vucinic
    Salas - Quagliarella
    Piccolo - Matri
    Guzman - Bendtner

Id say they are a fair bit stronger now than they were then.

Pirlo is my main concern in that team, his vision and ability along with his free kicks do concern me a little and despite his age has shown no signs of decline really, in terms of how he can control things he is second to xavi but got the added threat from free kicks.

Nah, not for me. Maybe Barca. But they are better than everyone in my books. If Bayern and Dortmund are better, its only marginally

*, what are the odds of that happening again? Someone good at maths can maybe work it out.

    Must be astronomical anyway.

I don't see what the big fuss is about, any team was going to be a difficult draw.

It is pretty irrelevant who we got as its a case of turning up and try to play our game and you never know what will happen as we have seen in the past.

Mentioned in the Hooper to Juve thread the other day that I think we'd have a chance if we drew them. Still do. It'll come down to who plays the best home leg imo, and for that reason I'd have preferred we got the second leg at home.

Busy just now, but considering I'm one of the few who actually watches Serie A regularly, and Juve games more often than not, I'll post up usual team and stuff at some point.

A very very big positive for us is that Chiellini is out and may not be back in time for it :50:

Not a chance imo mate, they have noone as class as Nedved, Trezeguet, Del Piero, Thuram or Zambrotta now. Pirlo is their best player by far and when Victor squashes him in the 2nd minute it will be game set and match.

I will politely disagree and say 2001 is the stronger team in defense and attack other then that give or take 2-3 three midfielders from each era that area is fairly equal
