    Middlesbrough chief executive Keith Lamb is believed to be in Istanbul trying to sign Tuncay Sanli.

    According to the Evening Gazette Lamb has flown to Turkey to talk with the international striker's representatives as the club look to fill the void left by Mark Viduka's exit.

    Tuncay is out of contract at Fenerbahce and he's virtually issued a 'come and get me' plea to Premiership clubs and has mentioned Middlesbrough as one of the clubs he'd like to join.

    The 25-year-old lanky hitman has scored 12 goals in 38 appearances for his country and 77 in just over 200 appearances for Fenerbahce.

    In addition, Tuncay is a free agent and therefore there would be no transfer fee

    I don't think she should be signing anymore strikers until we offload some of the deadwood that we already have. And even then I don't know if this guy would be Celtic quality?

    Seen him play when Fenerbache played Man United, he was completely awsome that game! Other than that I've never seen him play. Scoring record looks as if it's around a goal every three games, isn't that tremendous.

    We have all season to get rid of the strikers but good players get snapped up quickly so if we want him we can't afford to wait.And how can you say a proven,two-footed goalscorer at international and Champions League level is not 'Celtic class' when we have players like Hartley,Pressley,and Beattie at the club?

    He isn't a striker in recent times he ia a left midfielder/striker like naismith.

    He plays better on the left wing as he is a very good dribbler and really good from scoring long range efforts outside the box.

    I don't know if we should sign him I would rather get naismith as he is younger and looks like he could better than Tuncay. Aslo naismith is adapted to scotland and would play better in the cl which is what we are looking for.

    How can you say that an unproven talent like Naismith would play better in th CL than an already proven player at that level who,at 26,still has his best years ahead of him?
    Anyway as he would be free we could still sign Naismith.I know that we would potentially have 10 strikers but I think we should offload Beattie,Miller,possibly Zurawski and loan out Sheridan.If you combine that with Jarosik,Balde and Gravesen that could acumulate around 5 and a half million plus get a * of a lot off the wage bill.
    If we did that we could afford both Naismith,and Tuncay aswell as Appiah and be able to pay their wages.Signings like these would take us to the next level in the Champions League

    He is going to sign for middlesbrough anyway he just needs to do his medical.
