    A refugee is someone who flees their homeland bcos of persecution or war , then seek haven in the first safe country they come too . Not to travel thro other countries to get to the UK , if that happens it means the rest of Europe is not a safe place to seek haven in .

    No ,,they have passed thro safe countries to get here, if not then ,Europe is not a safe place, as they claim they are being persecuted in their homeland and having to flee therefore coming under the statute of a refugee

    They are staying to fight for their country and trying to claim back what was originally theirs. Airbnb have pulled listings in Israeli settlements on the Westbank bcos it is an illegal occupation.Other American companies are feeling the pressure now to pull out.

    What about the hundreds of thousands of Palestinians who live in asylum all over the world? Are they illegal?

    They have claimed asylum and been granted it , also sending things back to help those still there

    I don't necessarily think being a refugee means you forgo your right to choice, the same way a normal migrant would have a choice of which country to move to.

    There is no obligation under the refugee convention or any other instrument of international law that requires refugees to seek asylum in any particular country. There has, however, been a longstanding "first country of asylum" principle in international law by which countries are expected to take refugees fleeing from persecution in a neighbouring state. This principle has developed so that, in practice, an asylum seeker who had the opportunity to claim asylum in another country is liable to be returned there in order for his or her claim to be determined.
