I never really found an Irish feel to Dublin. It just seemed like London to me, albeit with less Irish people! I liked the history and the architecture but I wouldn't be in a rush to go back to Dublin. I think the people are less friendly there too, but that's the same with any city really.

 

Less Irish in the same sense that London is less English, Edinburgh less Scottish etc. Capital cities tend to be like that. In Europe, anyway.

I thought Dublin was great. Really liked it when I was over and wished I'd booked more than 2 days. That trivially annoyed me.

 

Westport is the best place in Ireland I've been..

 

I was told my origins were Donegal but it say's down the road in Fermanagh..

Least we're no Dublin..

Channel 5's website. The existence of this station is annoying enough, with a programming schedule aimed at idiots, but trying to watch their football highlights on their website is * tortuous. If they wi-fi signal drops, you are back to the start again, watching the same * adverts you have seen already.
And the highlights themselves are presented by that * Colin Murray, just to top it off. I will go through the games individually on Youtube in future.
