What would be the point? He's nowhere near match fit, so he wouldn't be in the appropriate condition to play in the high intensity games in February. Plus, he can't get a game for a pretty crap WBA side.

Bring back Jesus! Loved the big man. Can appreciate that he did infuriate a lot of supporters with his lazy looking ways. But this is a man that has compassion and decency coming out of every pore. He loves the club and the fans. He knows what the club means to the fans. And on his day he was so * good. Also was usually the main man pointed out as the biggest danger in Europe by opposition. Barcelona always feared him! Would be good for the Inter games!

Fair play to Tony Pulis. Five minutes in the door and he's already figured out that Samaras is an imposter. Wish some of our previous managers had been as quick to see it.

Pulis loves solidity, structure and consistency. He likes to know what he's getting when he sends a player out on the pitch. It's why he signs the likes of Ledley and sells the likes of Samaras.

    Nonstarter for me..

Loved the big man, he was sometimes unplayable but more often than not he didn't produce.

    We need to move on.

He did get a chance, twice actually, and he failed.

Sounds like a good manager to me. Ledley is one of my favourite Celtic players and Sammy one of my least favourite. If I was a manager I would gravitate towards players I could rely on too.

Aye, I would as well but it's always those players who are a bit different that I gravitate to, the strange geniuses, the Di Canio's and Okacha's :56:

    It's a bit odd.

I'm actually the same. My favourite players to watch are wingers or Lubo type players. Okocha was great to watch.

The difference between Lubo and Samaras(apart from a gulf in class) was that you could rely on Lubo to play well three or four times out of every five games he played. With Samaras the ratio drops down to one good game out of five, which is infuriating and simply not good enough.

Aw I agree but the weird thing with Sammy is 4 out of 5 big games, you could count on the *. He was infuriating.

The likes of Lubo, Di Canio and co are on a different level obviously but you know what I mean. Sammy was genius and by far the most annoying footballer I've ever saw at Celtic.

    He makes me bi polar.

:smiley-laughing002: A few sub appearances for West Brom isn't a proper chance.

Samaras could be a very useful player for someone in the EPL.

I'm assuming the manager went to training and Sammy must have as well, any new player at a club or new player to a manager must show what he can do in training, and if you don't show up he isn't going to trust you in a game. All the more shocking when you consider how desperate WBA were for goals.

Didn't start a league game, even against Gateshead in the FA Cup he couldn't even make the bench

To be fair I dont think anyone really considers Sammy a good 'goalscorer' so dont think that's relevant.

I'd agree that maybe Sammy hasn't shown it in training and that's why Irvine never trusted him, but he's a confidence player and I don't think not playing for so long will have done his confidence any good at all. The fact he is so short of games will affect his sharpness in comparison to other players in training aswell.

It's not going to be Pulis but if a EPL manager took a gamble on him, and he suited their style of play, he could easily be a very useful player. He's shown in Europe for us he has quality.
