He didn't get much of the ball. Australia's tactic going forward, instead of playing through Rogic, was very much to attack down the flanks at the French fullbacks. So, in truth they would have been better served to either play an extra MF in a 4-3-3 or 2 up front, in a 4-4-2, and then bring him on with 20 to go. The Socceroos definitely put up a fight though and could've (and perhaps should've) got something from the game.

Of the 3 Group games this always shaped up as the most difficult for Australia, and would expect Rogic to be far more involved in the next few games v Peru & Denmark.

The game kinda passed him by tbh, was always gonna be difficult for him to get any time on the ball.

Dont know what people were expecting. He drowns against top talent like kante.

Should have a decent chance to give a good showing in the next two.

I thought he did well against him tbh. Wasn’t given any space but held him off well with his strength and close control and drew a few fouls.

I wasn't really expecting too much from Australia tbh, i thought they did well and worked hard, but France were poor in that first half, thought their attitude left a lot to be desired.

Australia were never gonna be able to utilise his strengths in a game like that. He was largely anonymous but yeah as you said the next two games he should get more opportunities to showcase what he can do.

0 goals and assists in the european proper for us. Thats when we're playing top defenders and deep lying midfielders that eat up his play style.

Might also be down to the fact that we’re * in Europe. Anderlecht away aside we scored 3 goals in the other 7 games. Get the defence sorted and he might see some changes.

The fact you think that’s because he ‘drowns’ against top players says more about your understanding of the game than his supposed lack of ability.

Dont think he lost the ball once, don't remember a pass going astray either. I remember him having two tussles with Kante - First one he out muscled him and the second he won a free kick.

It was the right decision to hook him when he was, despite playing well. Brendan would of done the exact same.

No doupt he could do with a wee bit more swagger ,knowing he is the main man ,but he seems a humble guy and its nice to see in a football player ,the problem he had in the game was more down to australia no able to play through the mid ,not able to get the ball to him ,france overloaded midfield .
