    According to reports in Holland, Scottish giants, Glasgow Celtic, are keeping tabs on Ajax Amsterdam midfielder, Thulani Serero.

    The 26-year-old endured a difficult year in 2016 as he fell down the pecking order at this club in Holland, only making a handful of appearances throughout the course of the year as he lost his place to some of their younger players.

    With his contract set to expire in six months’ time, there has been talk of Ajax selling him this month in order to at least try and make a little bit of money on him, however it remains to be seen whether he will hold out for a free transfer in July.

    Serero has previously been linked with the likes of Reading in the UK and Bordeaux in France, however there has also been talk of a possible loan return to South Africa until his contract does expire at the end of the season.

    Now it is being reported in Holland that Celtic, who ‘Cream’ has played against in the past, are showing an interest in taking him to the Scottish Premier League, with the promise of Champions League football no doubt one of the pros that they have to offer.

    Seems to work hard and never stop running but he never really stood out to me in our annual european games vs Ajax.

    I can see why we are being linked as he is a Rodgers player. Works hard, flexible, fast and technically sound.

    I said in the Media thread but I reckon' this would be an alternative to Nagbe, and a much cheaper one at that. I'd rather Serero too.

    Looks like a better version of McGregor. Quite tidy on the ball, hard working but not too physical.

    I'd imagine he'll be available for around £500k, so probably worth a punt.

    Remember him against us in the Champions League and thought he was a good wee player. Tenacious and quick..

    Only thing is African Cup of Nation's. Is that no possibly a month or more every year halfway through our season..

    Half a mil is a steal. See him as more a squad player though rather than q stick on come in straight away..

    Remember the last midfielder we signed from Ajax? Serero could be the next Edgar Davids, but Derk Boerrigter has now made me terrified of signing anyone from Ajax ever again. :56:

    I would rather stick with McGregor and maybe bring Hourihane in as back up for Brown and Armstrong.
    This guy looks a big slight to me for the Scottish game.

    I think he stood out like a sore thumb because he was a little *. Nipped like * at our midfield and was always vocal with the ref. That's how I can still remember him.

    Suppose it's always better when he's your player right enough.

    Did he not miss an absolute sitter in the home game. Through 1 on 1 with forster after some tidy play. Goal at his mercy and hit it straight at forsters leg. We go up the other end and make it 2-0?

    Not criticising just can't remember if it was him.

    Think anything under a million and its worth the gamble. 26 years old still got his prime years ahead of him and Rodgers is probably the best manager to get his best form
