Considering Vermaelen is unreliable in terms of injuries and Mina already looks a strange buy, needed for depth, at a minimum. Lenglet has been fantastic addition to Sevilla, looks like he has been playing in the Primera for years. Left footed, great instincts as a defender and confident going forward with the ball. Juventus has pursued him dating back to his beginnings at Nancy

In the current bubble market, 35 million still looks very shrewd business from my perspective and while Sevilla will be gutted to not get more for him they still made a handsome 30 million profit in 18 months - impressive post Monchi, has to be said

He's going to be a great addition, very pleased

He’s class but I wonder if it means Umtiti is off.

I don't think they are related but surely it gives Barcelona leverage in their salary negotiations with Umtiti. I don't think Samu wants to leave as he is very settled but wants to get the best deal possible

Just meant because they’re both left footed and very one sided.

Is Umtiti still got that clause of around £50m? He’d be an absolute bargain for any team at that price.

Very low buyout clause upon his arrival from Lyon. Barcelona love Umtiti as do the fans, player seems to have similar love for the club and is quite close to Dembélé but you never know when it comes to money - we're all wired differently for that

I do believe he was bought for depth that has been needed, can't forget Mascherano left as well. De Ligt would then be the ideal backup to Piqué but one step at a time

There any chance Valverde gets punted at the end of the season? Some Barca fans seem to hate him on twitter and r/soccer :giggle1:

Hate would be a strong word for me but I am definitely in the contingent that no only wants him gone but never wanted him here in the first place because I knew we would be bored to tears in the 4-4-2

Spurs being linked with Dries Mertens for £24.5m.

Bargain in this day & age.

25 million for a 31 year old is a lot!

Schalke midfielder Max Meyer has been linked with Arsenal and Liverpool but the 22-year-old Germany international has agreed a move to join Hoffenheim. (Leipziger Volkszeitung)

    That’s an odd move, that.
