    Deffo. Even sadder news though is my fave ever 'looker' for a player and generally all round nice bird as far as Tennis players are concerned is former grand slam semi finalist Daniella Hantuchova. Knee injury finished her so she announced her retirement at Wimbledon where she was a former mixed doubles champion. She's still a * stunner.

    I had this conversation with my cousin yesterday as he remembers that I used to be as fanatical about tennis as I am about football today. I think there's a dearth of upcoming superstars in tennis coupled with the advances in technology & fitness that have diminished the edge that players could have over others. Federer represents a unique combination of mental strength, stature and skill set that sets him apart in the modern era. Some surfaces (Clay obviously) give others an opportunity to close that gap but in general I think it'll be difficult to see another tennis champion reproduce what Roger has done

    Federer on course for his 4th Roger's Cup in Canada today,the 36 year old looks all set for his 6th title of the year,the Swiss Superstar bounced back from his 7-5 1-6 5-7 3-6 defeat to Parsley Phillips last week.

    Looks like Murray is out for the rest of the season and won't be back til around January. Tremendous shame but probably the best decision with regard to his long term health.

    Could be as low as 16th by the time he comes back, apparently.
