Effectively we already have...Ghettos have been created and heroin more readily available than a bag of chips.

I watch this programme and am thankful for everything I have (but most especially my accent!) 3rd generation of widespread unemployment and living in abject poverty. This shouldnt happen in todays society. These people are not deserving of your anger folks

With all respect these people do have a choice.. i grew up in a shithole basically that was worse than Onthank imo... (Prospecthill Circus in Toryglen,Glasgow) & i saw what Drugs (& drink ) can do to people.. therefore id swore id never touch the heavy stuff - (smack especially ) and there was many many the same age as me who got out and are making a life for themselves.. when i go back to Glasgow with my son invariably the 1st thing you get coming out off Central Station is some junkie asking you for money "cos hes lost his bus fare" im as liberal as the next Celtic fan but make no mistake smack heads are scum who would sell there own children for a tenner bag of smack... sad but true!

To suggest they have no choice in life or no prospects is a complete cop out in my opinion.

No one is dictated to by the surroundings they live in as long as they have the werewithal to actually go and attempt to have a go at life rather than stick junk in their veins and waste themselves.

There is support for everyone in this day and age if you want to get out of the predicament you were born in to.

It's a load of * bollocks to say they're all scumbags.I know people who were unfortunately addicted to that * and managed to turn their lives around and do someting with their lifes. The people saying they should all just be killed or forgotten about because they're scum I doubt have had any mate or family member suffer because of that * poison.
Should alcoholics or gambling addicts be left to rot?No I don't * think so.

My sister is a drug addict mate so i think i can talk on this... out of 6 of us growing up shes the only one that touched the stuff...so was it the enviroment we grew up in done it to her?? why not the rest of my family?? i dont say they should be killed ..in fact i think they should be given there fix...as a wage like i said..make them clean the streets or do something productive like that.. then give them there tenner bag let them do what they want with there own bodies..stops the rest of us getting hassled & robbed for money..they should get 1 chance to kick there habit.. & 1 chance only... have absolutely no sympathy for anyone in this day & age (knowing everything that we know now) that can develop a smack habit.

I have a few close family members who are addicts and grew up in an environment surrounded by drugs but I'm not sure how much I'd put the addictions down to that or peer pressure, I have alot of sympathy for people who have addicts because only they know how hard it is to chuck the habit.

I'm a smoker and know how difficult it is to chuck that, I can only imagine how fractional that is compared to drugs.
