    Defence:

One of the greatest goalies of all time (some say the greatest) doing my shot stopping.

Two of the best modern greats at CB and at full back I have two of the best, of their generation. Plenty of ability to link up with my wingers and track back and defend.

    Midfield:

With such attacking talent in my front four, I've elected for two defensively minded CM's, to help protect my defence. Busquets is a modern defensive great, you only have to look at his CV and his importance in one of the best footballing sides in history to know that. Busquets has incredible game intelligence and if you watch him closely you'll see that, along with his tremendous passing ability.

Davids is a physically robust, pacey, tenacious defensive midfielder who's tight marking of opponents allowed his CM partner at Juventus (Zizou) to flourish. He was excellent on that ball too and fits perfectly into my team.

Rivaldo will be a creative link between midfield and attack, using his flair to create chances for Pele along with scoring goals himself. Also a threat from direct free kicks.

    Attack:

Every member of this attack (including Rivaldo) is a World Cup winner, so they know how to score at the highest level, against any defence.

On each wing, I have two of the best ever. In Ronaldinho, I've got the player who is probably the most insanely technically talented player I've ever seen. Not only was he technically brilliant, but he used his skills to be a very effective contributer to team play. In short, he's a match winner.

Jairzinho was a key component of one of the greatest ever international sides (Brazil 1970) and he formed a great partnership with Pele, who is arguably the greatest striker of all time. He too had pace and flair and technical ability to get past defenders.

Pele = goals, skills and wins. He was consistently claimed to be the best footballer of all time and still is by some.

    Quality in every department.

    Defence:
Few would enjoy facing, mainly due to that central 3 of Kahn, Desailly and Nesta. A brick wall. Both full backs are versatile and powerful, with ability to help out in both defence and attack. Carlos Alberto is widely regarded as the best RB in history and Abidal is a criminally underrated player often overlooked.

    Midfield:
    Balance.

    Makelele
acts as a 3rd CB and when both full backs bomb forward to provide width, he would suit in and join that middle two, making a pretty formidable defensive triangle.

    Zibi Boniek
was one of the most gifted midfielders of the late 70's and 80's, forging a highly successful career in Italy while being at the very forefront of a successful period on the international stage for Poland. A versatile player, he would provide the side with the ability to spot passes, support the front, while also working hard for the side and using his pace in a slightly box to box kind of role. Diego Maradona once described him as the 'Greatest counter attacking player in world football'.

Most critics, fans and hipsters alike agree that Francesco Totti played his best football for Roma as a number 10, a role he played most significantly in Roma's 2001 Serie A win. A player who fans the world over worship, not just in Rome. A true genius and someone who we will never likely see again, in modern football, could do incredible things with a football and is the creative spark behind that front 3.

    Attack:

    Cristiano Ronaldo
. The man who continues to break records in the modern era and who many believe is the best on the planet currently (although admittedly not me:fear:). He has it all in terms of forward play. Pace, power, ability on the ball, and most importantly the knack of being in the right place at the right time. His familiarity with a wide role would be helpful here too, allowing him to drift around and allow the other 2 to play as more of a traditional partnership.

    Hugo Sanchez
held all sorts of records in Spanish football, until the likes of Ronaldo and Messi came long. A hugely prolific goalscorer who was capable of putting away any type of chance, I'd bet against him scoring against any opposition. A player often forgotten.

Just Fontaine. Another man who is very seldom mentioned, but a fantastic footballer nonetheless. A prolific goalscorer in the 50's and early 60's, he still holds the record for the most goals scored at a World Cup, with 13 in 1958. Insane. A powerful and pacey striker, despite not being the tallest, he would form a formidable partnership with Sanchez, as Ronaldo and Totti drift in and around the pair, supported by Boniek and the full backs, and shielded by that 3-man triangle.

    Subs:

    Sandro Mazzolla
    Zito
    Robbie Keane

2 versatile players in Zito and Mazzolla and a natural goalscorer in Keane.

    Subs:

    Raimundo Orsio
    Michael Laudrup
    Johan Mjallby

A goalie who was always class and only got better with age. Two exceptional right backs, defensively and offensively. A couple of ballers at centre half with pace, goals and trophies aplenty.

The midfield is tough as nails. All 3 are solid defensively and carry a goal threat from distance. Ballack in particular can score from just about anywhere.

A front 3 with skill, pace, deadly finishing, movement and style. Which includes one of the best players ever in Ronaldo.

    Geez a gobble borobob.

    Defence.
Literally world class. Outstanding centre backs in Kohler and Santamaria combined with the Italian culture of Bergomi and Cabrini. Nothing is getting through there.

    Midfield.
Double pivot of Effenberg and Falcao with Zico at the spearhead would be enough to put the * up any defence and at the same time be hard as nails and combative enough to destroy any midfield opposition.

    Attack.
Well it's just going to rain goals. Romario finishing off the creativity of Zico. Cruyff pulling the strings for everyone and to top it all off we have KHR. The only way you would keep that lot out is if you had my defence.. Unfortunately you don't

    Subs.
    Juninho... Creative genius
Guiseppe Meazza... Italy greatest ever striker
    Jerome Boateng... Defensive steel

IMG_0267.JPG This is my 11 it may well change for the competition tho..

Quality and intelligence all over the pitch.

    Defence
Best current GK in the World, the sweeper keeper will allow this team to press high. Two class full backs who love to get forward. Strength and flexibility at the centre of defence. With Sammer able to step into the midfield or 'sweep' at the back an adaptable intelligent player.

    Midfield
Xavi the complete midfielder and the best at dictating a game. Kaka one of the best at breaking from the midfield and gliding past defenders, with a great pass and shot. Silva the invisible wall brings protection to the whole side.

    Attack
In Bergkamp and King Kenny you have two of the most intelligent forwards ever, who can feed the most potent striker ever in Puskas. 84 goals in 85 international games and 7 goals in two European Cup Finals.

    Bench
    Is no bad.

Defence: The King of Celtic Goalkeepers, the only Goalkeeper to win a European Cup as goalkeeper for Celtic. Two solid and attack minded full backs who can bomb forward and create opportunities through overlapping and interchanging with Bale and Garrincha in front of them - aided by the fact Tigana can cover them as the designated holding midfielder in the side. In the centre of the defence is a combination of grit and elegance in Koeman and Puyol. Two cultured centre halves with the ability to start attacks with quality passing.

Midfield: In midfield I have gone for the trio of Tigana, Neeskens and Vidal. I have gone with one holding midfielder in Tigana, and two box to box players in Neeskens and Vidal. A mixture of class, energy and goals which will allow the front three to attack with purpose. An extremely combative and tenacious midfield, that would be difficult for any midfield to play against.

Attack: An attacking trio of Bale, Messi and Garrincha. Little needs to be said about Messi, the best striker that has ever lived. Supported by the guile and quality of Garrincha on the right, a player who would cause any left back problems as arguably the greatest out and out winger to have played the game. Bale provides similar quality on the left but in a different way. With sheer power and pace, he provides an outlet on the left hand side. With Bale on the left, there is a directness added to the forward line which makes it less predictable, and all the more difficult to play against.

One of the greatest keepers of all time in goal with a fantastic mixture of modern and old school centre backs in front. Bobby Moore in the centre who reads the game and does what's needed with Blanc and Pique either side adding more pace and technical skills.

Midfield is magic, Lothar Mattheus the German general in the defensive role, patrolling all across the midfield, the German legend known for his all around technical play and ability to break play up, he would later become a sweeper and its those attributes he will be using here. In front of him, Bobby Charlton playing as the box to box midfielder, only ever booked twice in his life, he will be up and down offering a more attacking option but will do his work defensively. On the wings two insanely gifted wingers In Socrates and Rensenbrink will tear any full back to * shreds, however both renowned for their engines and athletic ability they will be able to slot back into the full back positions if needed, despite not having the greatest defensive attributes, their work rates will cause anyone problems when going back and the defending will be left to Lothar and the back 3.

Up top needs no explanation, 3 of the greatest forwards of all time will * smash goals past you left right and * centre.
