I disagree. We are going backward. We are mostly one dimensional and if the system is tweaked it seems to be for the worse.

While retirements are part and parcel of football having 3 players (all who could comfortably have improved last Sundays team) leave the panel after losing 4 players through retirement was always going to be a problem.

There was also an expectation that the young players blooded in the league would carry that form through to championship where everyone knows that like expecting a player who can shine in the SPFL to do so in the CL.

All these problems can be fixed with a single stroke of the pen. Hopefully we do not let things fester like Armagh have done.

 

Dublin still the team to beat on that performance..Actually felt sorry for Westmeath, never nice to see a team get that kind of tanking..

 

Decent 2nd half performance from Armagh.

 

Mayo-Derry next week could be a good one.

Next weeks qualifiers would have been interesting if home advantage had of been reversed. The chances of Derry, Longford or Sligo winning away are pretty remote. Even with home advantage these teams would struggle to get anything from the game

 

Mayo-Derry today. Will be working so won't catch the game, but have a bad feeling about it. We really ought to win but it's been a difficult time of late.

 

Hopefully we put in a decent performance and beat Longford today
