Been absolutely buzzing out my * for this. Heard from a few places it was due out late next year, but I've just read an interview with Al Pacino saying production wont even be started till early 2016!!!! Gutted is an understatement:54:.

Basically another mob movie about Irish-American Labour union official and Gangster Frank Sheeran who was allegedly responsible for at least 25 mob murders and reported to have been involved in the JFK assassinantion.

DeNiro, Pesci, Pacino, Scorcese. What a combo :icon_mrgreen:. Cannae wait!!!!

Has it been filmed yet? with them all being in their 70s they should make it as soon as.

The Deerhunter looks like a good yin, Christopher Walkens another one of my favourite actors. Thought he was funny as * as Hans in 7 psychopaths.

Don't think so mate, the way Pacino spoke in the interview they had only began the process with nothing filmed yet. Gutted man.

I hate to rain on your parade guys, but personally, i think Scorcese has gone to the well once too often already, never mind another time!

Goodfellas was a classic, but for me Casino and The Departed were just ok and Scarface was just a noise.......and Heat was contrived.
Deerhunter was brilliant but heavy and i liked Carlitos Way also.......but i think My Cousin Vinny was the best of them all!:smiley-laughing002:

I also love all 3 of those actors, but to me they seem to be trying to cash in on former glories and i find it sad that Scorsese feels it is all he has to offer these days.......another gangster movie.(which i love at times, but im tired of him)

Casino and The Departed are 2 of the best films I've seen man. And Scarface was directed by Brian DePalma I'm sure? Heats a classic aswell come on man.

That's the point most people have made about this film, maybe Martys took it once too far but this isn't another glorification of the mob, its a look at the gritty, dark side.

Scorseses the master at mob movies so you know he'll have a trick or 2 up his sleeve to make it stand out.

Aye, im just too cynical these days......getting bored with Bob and Marty and Al.

I couldnt take Casino seriously, seeing Pesci trying to play a dwarf madman again!

I think a lot of people are the same to be fair. The point of this, I think, is to show that he can do it from a different angle. A lot of cynics will be pleasantly surprised when it comes out me reckons.

But mon tae *, Casino is a classic. Pesci plays the midget nutjob perfectly:icon_mrgreen:.

This film had been talked about for years.

De Niro has not been in a decent film for years either, hopefully reuniting with Scorcese will rejuvenate him.

How many gangster films has Scorsese made recently? Hugo, Wolf of Wall Street, Shutter Island, The Aviator weren't gangster films. He's made more music documentaries than anything else!

His only real gangster film in the last 10 years was The Departed which, while not my favourite Marty film by a long shot, received huge acclaim and won him his only Best Director oscar so far.

A gangster film from Scorsese certainly isn't to be sniffed at (insert Wold of Wall Street joke here) and this will hopefully be another great addition to his catalogue.

I agree that Deniro and Pacino haven't been up to much recently but Scorsese has always got the best out of Deniro so I've no doubt we'll see some great performances when this movie eventually comes out. :50:

He was sensational in Goodfellows, but to me he played the same part in Casino.
I just couldnt get with the format of it.I didnt like it, and ive tried to watch it all the way through several times.(succeeded once)
Ok Mr Aficionado....:smiley-laughing002:, i take that bit back.

I just think if he is planning another gangster movie, he should use different actors from those mentioned.Im bored with them personally.
