Sounds as though I’m best of whizzing through the game when I watch it off the planner in a bit then and only slowing down for the odd good bit.

Just looking at the criteria I think this is unlikely to be a factor as GD in the group is only 6th in the tie-breaking criteria. Head to head will come first.

Hard to imagine we could be any worse but honestly on Tuesday I think it will end up 0-0 with Georgia we just have nothing going forward in attack right now and no natural play maker in midfield.

If it takes another one of these then so be it.

No Martin O'Neill to blame for yesterday. Maybe just maybe, people will begin to realise that no matter who's in charge we just have absolutely average players and it's impossible to get them playing attractive football.

Ye our midfield seems a bit weak attacking wise,it was really poor against Gibraltar but i really think the conditions contributed to a poor game so im hoping for an improvement against Georgia other wise it could turn out to be a painful return for mc carthy.
Is mc geady retired?if not i would of thought he would have got a call up,he seems to playing ok at the moment.

I am going to agree and disagree. Certainly Martin O'Neill for me was not to blame for the last couple of years and I will not holding Big Mick to responsible either. The fact is this Irish squad is bereft of any quality of note never mind any kind of depth. In particular there is a total lack of creativity in our squad and a total lack of genuine goal threats.

Where I will disagree to an extent is the attractiveness of our play. I mean come on we may be bad but we should be able to get the ball down and actually play against Gibraltar and the fact is Ireland games are dreadful to watch no matter who we play because even against weaker opposition we make no attempt to really play. You cannot tell me we are so bad that we cannot play against the bottom tier teams.
This is for me a key issue which needs to be addressed in changing not just the structures so we can start to bring through our own talent but also we must change the culture of Irish football and get away from a direct long ball style and encourage and focus on developing a culture in our game that players want the ball are comfortable on it and that we can actually pass the ball and play. If you want to be successful in the modern game you have to be able to play and keep the ball. Right now we don't even attempt to do that.

I am going to disagree. I have absolutely no problem with us calling up and having guys born outside Ireland playing for us. Facts are emigration has been a big issue in our past so we are always going to be a country that will have a significant pool of players eligible to play for us born outside the 32 counties. But where I will disagree is with a player like Rice who clearly saw himself as English not Irish. I do not care where a player is born but he must see himself as Irish and really be committed 100% to playing for that green jersey. Rice obviously was not so I am glad he will never play for us going forward.

Not 100% sure but McGeady is not retired as far as I know. He has 92 caps for Ireland so not far off playing for us 100 times if he could get back into the national squad. As you say certainly is having a good season this year albeit in the third tier.

You can play attractive football no matter the standard of player. Northern Ireland get the ball on the deck and play football and they have nothing but * players.

Are you telling me it's by impossible to play decent football with Arter, Hendrick, Doherty, Hourihane, Coleman and Brady in the team?

Arter and Doherty, two guys starting week in, week out in the prem left on the bench. McClean starts. Keogh starts ahead of Egan.

Ridiculous. This is going to be drab at best. Come on you boys in green t *.

You expect nothing else but watching utter drab.

Pish I know but the results are the most important thing.

Do you think Doherty stood out against Gibraltar ? Don't really get how the fact he starts for Wolves is relevant.

Great Sky coverage (outside of the EPL) as always. Georgia are not "three unbeaten" as they lost 2-0 on Saturday.

Arter got injured in the warmup so he is out completely anyway.
