* to watch and the home game wont be much different with both teams more afraid of losing than anything.
Think Ireland missed an opportunity last night as they were no better than us but we just never gave it a go.
Would like to see whelan back in the middle and bring a bit more stability to our midfield and see long on from the start he,s going through a bad patch but he,s a tough lad who can give their defenders something to think about.

This exactly. I thought I was the only one. If your banking on Wes Hoolahan to be your saviour at international level then your team is in a much more sorry state than you're admitting to yourself.
I was very happy with that team selection last night. Not the greatest footballing performance but it's an end to a means.
I'll happily take a * 1-0 win Tuesday.

 

I think the ref was aware of how many players on both sides were in yellow card trouble. He had a word with the teams in the tunnel and seemed to give the players a little extra leeway so fair play to the ref on that score.

 

Wish I could disagree with you but I can't. This is a very limited Ireland team from a talent pool standpoint so all credit for a rock solid defensive performance by the team. The tie is on a real knife edge now given the away goals situation and our home record in terms of actually winning games against good sides is poor but at least we have a chance now. Personally I expected us to lose in Denmark so to be all level come kick off time on Tuesday gives us at least a fighting chance although I would still have the Danes as favourites.
