Played at Roukenglen last year and played at Barshaw on Friday. I'm * hopeless at golf but I do enjoy it.

Played the majority of courses in the west of Scotland over the years. Been playing for about 15 years but. Got down to 4 when I had the time to play, good bit higher now but :56:

Courses I have enjoyed the most are probably the Carrick and The Roxburgh. Most difficult probably Prestwick and Bogside (Irvine Golf Club), still get nightmares about the first tee shot at Prestwick!

To anyone starting out, buy Ben Hogans Instructional book and then Tiger Woods coaching book on Amazon. The Hogan book isn't exactly the easiest read but it will teach you solid fundamentals. Tigers book also has solid information in it and the knowledge you get from these books will clue you up on terminology and concepts if you decide to get lessons.

The hogan book was recommended to me by a couple of people I'm more of a visual student but I might actually give it a go, I did have some lessons last year and going into this year but I wasn't playing enough and have slipped back into old habits might book a couple more
