Because Lennon doesn’t know how to control a game.

Cluj wouldn’t have got a kick against us if the rat was still here.

Rodgers to Lennon is as big a downgrade as Tierney to Boli whether people like to admit it or not.

Its like fans have a short memory. We had quite a few performances under Rodgers in europe that we completely failed to turn up.

Regardless of what manager is at a higher level, they are both ties that we should have overcome.

I wouldnt have trusted Rodgers in last nights game given his struggles with organising the defence in europe and recruitment.

Given the manner in which Rodgers left us, im struggling to see why fans are trying to big him up right now.

He didnt want to be here. He put himself before everyone at the club and the fans when we we offered him a platform to rebuild his name.

I think that’s what worse, we have went into this tie with another make shift defence and it wasn’t good enough last why would it be good enough this season.

    * horrendous mismanagement.

How the * can you blame Rodgers and Congerton for last night at all? Rodgers has been gone since February and Lennon stated he was looking at players and helping out since then so Congerton can’t get all the blame for that.

We had plenty of time to sign players, stop using the last two as an excuse it just doesn’t work.

If we have any ambition to secure the 9 and 10 and get into the Champions league next season we need to spend at least 15 mil of the Tierney money on 3 or 4 players, it won't affect our running costs and Lawell and Co will still get 10 mil of the pie wanks. And it still won't take away from money we have in bank, *.

Not quite... Every country's champions will still enter the Champions League.

"A third European club competition with the working title 'Europa League 2' will be introduced from 2021.

One English team will enter the play-offs of the new tournament, while Scottish sides may miss out on Europa League places in a reshuffle.

As part of Uefa's 2021-2024 cycle, the Europa League will cut in size to 32 teams with an extra play-off round between the group stage and last 16.

The new tournament will be played on Thursdays alongside the Europa League.

Every country's champions will still enter the Champions League, but only teams from the 15 top-ranked countries will go into the Europa League group stages or qualifiers.

That means teams from leagues below that level - which at the moment would include Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, excluding their champions - would go straight into 'UEL2' qualifying rounds.

The new competition and Europa League will have the same format - eight groups of four teams with the winners going into the last 16. There will be a play-off before that round for the teams who finish second in the group and sides who finish third in the groups of the higher tournament.

The winners of the tournament will qualify for the following season's Europa League.

The Champions League format does not change."

I started laughing at your mention of ambition to reach the champions league, Open your eyes that boat sailed long ago the board have clearly dropped that ambition and the buisness is being run by the sale of a developed players and dropping into the Europa league , it’s clearer now than it ever has been open your eyes mate.

so this is the much vaunted european league starting to take shape then ?

    league 1 > champions league

    league 2 > europa league

    league 3 > europa league 2

and although we get to play maybe only 6 champions league qualifiers to get into the champions league group stages in 2021 if we fail we dont get the opportunity of dropping into the europa league 1 we get dumped into a qualifier for europa league 2 ffs

nto only is liewell downsizing us but uefa are looking to do it aswell by pushing us down the pecking order

I am critical of Lenny but I have to agree with this.

First I don't think we would score three goals at a game we started behind against Cluj with the Snake. There wasn't a very good mentality around with him. If we started well, we could maybe finish the game well. If we started bad, we often wouldn't recover unless against bad opposition.

Second, the way we lost to AEK was at least as shameful as this.

Third, the horrible idea of playing McGregor as LB wasn't exactly a Lenny invention. Rodgers did this many times out of the failure of having a decent back up LB.

    * the Snake.

This is Lennon's team. He picked the players. He picked the formation. He chose to leave out players who have signed under his tenure.

This is LENNON's failure, not Fraudgers'.

I keep slating our lack of investment then I remember it was Cluj that put us out. They kind of make it a moot point.

We should have had more than enough to negotiate that tie. Poor game management on the night by Lennon & Kennedy combined with what looks to be a pedestrian at best and negligent at worst recruitment process that sees us identify players too late for them to make an impact and also seems to identify many duds.

Neither me or @freitassen are blaming Rodgers. But some are seriously trying to say if he was in charge we would have definitely progressed.

Not only Lennon to blame, but Lawell and whoever bought the players who were not deemed good enough to play in our most important game.

All of this happened under Lawells tenure. I could go on a rant but ultimately Lawell has had an influence on the way things have transpired.

Even with Mcgregor at left back we should have had enough on the park.

Dude, this is what I posted in Neil Lennons topic

"Honestly, sack him now. There is no point in waiting fore more damage just to keep a tradition going and look coherent. It was clear Deila wasnt good enough at the Maribor game already but it took two, three years to do what had to be done just to keep the face. There are certainly a bunch of managers interested in leading a team with a +50 million wage bill, the guy from Cluj literally offered himself to the job. They just won't come from England. The loss is already bad enough, his non sense explanations, interviews, back tracking and * licking of a board sitting over a pile of cash are undefensable. The guy is a Celtic legend and did not deserve or need to go through this embarassement. Better this than having we all hating him by november"

The thing is: both Lennon, the Snake and even Deila are not completely incompetent and out of Merit. There seems to be a culture of incompetence behind the way the team is driven, as both a reknowned word class EPL runner up coach, a Celtic legend who knows the club very and a modern, young coach with very good results at * teams fail here. One would think what is the common factor behind the tenure of these three guys.

Who has actually signed these players though ? The recruitment has been an absolute shambles since last summer the board knew fine well Rodgers was leaving therefore there is no way Bayo Shved where his signings who sanctioned them? Asfore Julien the negotiations where already in place before Lennon took the gig , I fail to see how it can be classed as lennons Team as I’m struggling to see who he is recruited this is the result of the failings since last summer no forward planning when the board knew fine well Rodgers was leaving and the fact congreton was still kept in office knowing fine well he was going to join Rodgers
