FIFA rankings are a lot of pish or certainly used to be unless they've changed the weighting in recent years. I mean take Mexico back in the day!! Now I know they're a half decent side at the moment but wasn't always the case! Used to be regularly near the top of the list when their qualifying campaign was against cannon fodder!

A Nd I know Scotland are pish!!...but are pish playing against far higher level opposition more regularly. Would say the only zone comparable with Uefa is South America then probably Africa!!

Wait? Is nobody going to call out this * for spouting absolute pish? Buddy the last time Scotland played Australia was a 3-1 win to us at Easter Road in 2012. Scotland have only lost once to Australia, won 3 and drawn once. Think you need to get your facts straight before you come on a Celtic Forum, spouting pish about what an amazing standard your national team is.

Oh and Scotland actually recently beat Israel, I know everything is a bit slow over there but it was only 2 months ago.

I'm not boasting about anything, purely reacting to some fairly rubbish comments from a few on here that don't know a thing about international football, especially that in Asia.

Yes Scotland beat Isreal at Hampden park, thanks for completely missing my point.

Did you forget the fact you lost 1-2 to them in Hafia 4 weeks before that? You know, the whole point that international away games are tough no matter the opponent?

You tried making a point about scotland losing "RECENTLY" when the most recent time they played against Israel they won. World Rankings never really tell the real story about a nation, I mean Chile and Sweden are ranked higher than Germany and Japan are 9 places below Australia and Russia 7 below. That doesn't mean that Australia are better than these teams and would be certain that the aussies would be under dogs in those games.

Look, Chris Sutton stirring the pot up and jokingly calling the competition mickey mouse was disrespectful but then you look at the goal that Rogic scored in the last minute and see the two strikers not even celebrating the goal but we were told how the competition ' means so much for the fans and players' he may not be so far from the truth. I'm sure it means a lot when their in the semis and playing the bigger opponents such as Japan and Korea, but we haven't seen it yet.

Australia are a very very poor side. They have the easiest qualification route for major tournaments thanks to the standard in that region. Scotland have regularly been a better side over the years.

He lost the ball a second after , not sure it’s a great highlight him and his team mates struggling against the mighty giants Uzbekistan

For anyone doubting Tam's motivation to play for Australia, he won the race from the bench to embrace Matt Leckie after the last penalty. The look on his face is pure delight despite being banned for the quarter final against hosts UAE.

As for his yellow card - deeply suss. Did absolutely nothing so...exactly how much was the ref paid to make sure Tam missed the next game?
