Yeah you're right mate, more a character thing. When he had his 'Rambo' moment though, I quite liked that :icon_mrgreen:

Good show although I thought there were a couple of scenes that shouldn't have been in it. A lot of unanswered questions as well.

Watched the first half yesterday and the latter half this morning. On the whole, I'd say it lived up to the hype. The cast was great, and the child actors were surprisingly good (the fact that they actually seemed like regular kids is probably praiseworthy in itself).

The only thing I wasn't overly keen on was actually in the final episode -
that being the flashback stuff with Hopper's daughter. The scenes themselves were fine but, excluding the one just before they pull the worm thing out of Will, they felt a bit shoehorned in. The Upside Down stuff was pretty good in general though, it was very Silent Hill-ish.

One thing that did make me laugh though, and I'm guessing it was unintentional, was the way the treated
Barbara. I mean the two scenes that are pretty much full blown horror focus on her, she has a seemingly brutal death and by the end it feels like everyone just sort of shrugged her off. It seems like such a mean fate for such an innocent character :smiley-laughing002:

I'm looking forward to the second season, but I think part of me would've preferred the series to be an anthology rather than a sequel to be honest. I always feel like with these sort of stories there's a risk that they end up explaing things that don't need to be explained. In saying that, from the interviews I've read, it sounds like the creators are wary of that themselves.

Ha,must be a bad person as i forgot all about poor Barb.

Really enjoyed this show and only went in as the blurb intrigued me!!

To be fair a lot of Netflix's own stuff is pretty good imo.

I liked it and I'll watch Season 2 but I think a lot of people went way OTT with it.

The 80's feel is cool but I'm not a fan of the ridiculously unrealistic * personally.

I'm not a fan of this genre either but did enjoy this and also the The Walking Dead which i was really sceptical about going in.

Me and the missus just started watching this. Love the way it really does capture the 80's...the intro, the scores, and camera work are excellent. Didn't want to turn it off and could've rattled every episode in a day. On episode 6 the now so be done for the weekend

How will the second season go? Will it be same characters with a different 'boogeyman'?

From the interviews I've read, it's apparently set one year later and its going to be continuing the story from the first series.

It was alright. There have been plenty of far superior sci fi shows though.

As someone who * loves synthpop, outrun etc type music the soundtrack is orgasmic. The guys who done the score have some cracking songs under their band S U R V I V E

Was a good series. Will be interesting to see how Season 2 pans out in due course.

Though, the thought occured to me that this series, and it's creators owe a LOT to Twin Peaks. May not have the quirks or have the iconic characters, but it is not a completely dissimiliar theme at play here.

To be fair it's a mish mash of a lot of things. TP like you said. Stand By Me, Goonies, ET, X Files, to name a few.
