Another good point about this, if it does go through, is that if he is successful in turning his career around, then he's more likely to show loyalty to us and stay for the long term.

Like with Sinclair, he basically found his love for football again with us so he's less likely to jump ship at the first decent offer from the EPL.

This could turn out to be a great piece of business for us. We could end up getting an international quality CB for 4 or 5 seasons with no transfer fee.
And even if it does go * up, we're not not going to be out too much.

I don't think we are the right place for him just now. Nothing to do with him in a footballing sense, to be honest I don't even remember him, but if he does have mental issues the media up here will be looking to dig up any little thing from his past, and following him everywhere in the hope he relapses. The pressure of being a Celtic player is too much for many, at the best of times, I don't think it is the right environment for him to try and get his head together.

I agree in a sense, but I also disagree as the manager, players and fans we have could be just the perfect place for him.

Rodgers and Sinclair can help show him the way on how to enjoy life in Glasgow and also enjoy football.

Also it might help if Sinclair shares Helen.

Worth a punt for a year I guess. Erik's days are surely numbered though.

Then how the * can we ask for the amount of money we are asking for simunovic can't agree with you their I'm comfortable with jozo as much I am with Tierney and Tierney is subject to mistakes but can be forgiven because the amount of times he bombs down the wing

So are you saying you think Teirney is worth the same as Jozo. I said in previous posts that I like Siminovic, my point was another lad was saying the big man was also average against Linfield but it's always Sviatchenko that gets pelters. He's still very young, centre halfs can play until their late 30's. Teirney has probably had about 3 average games in his career, he's an 8 or a 9 every other week. For me he's the only one that in Brendan Rodgers' words that I'd take to war.

I've watched him alot as Sunderland have been linked with him for 3 Years! Not impressed, prone to lapses of concentration and positionally - Never seemed to be in the right place. He was part of that calamity QPR team who shipped goals and went down and become the whipping boys, before that he was at Cardiff and they too leaked goals and went down. Pure coincidence or bad luck? I'm not sure... Remember Danny Graham giving him the run-around at Loftus Road 2 Years ago. Used to get some right stick on MOTD.

However, BR knows him more than me, I trust his judgement, I just hope this isn't a case of heart ruling the head, I know this bloke is going through a lot, but from a Footballing sense, it has my alarm bells ringing...

However, new environment and BR tossing an arm round his shoulder, could revive his career like Sinclair. I hope to be proved wrong if he makes the move.

We have got little choice giving the mess we are in at the back. He's worth a punt. Got a good feeling about this.

I suppose you're right, on a free transfer it doesn't carry too much a risk. However, I've raised my doubts, Ill bow to your positive feeling Doc! Brendan Rodgers has earned the right to trust that he knows what he is doing.

If, we do sign him, do you think that'll signal the end for Erik? I can't see him happy being behind Jozo/Boyata/New CB with Ajer also competing.

I know its a hypothetical question.

Jesus, that does sound worrying tbh

I suppose, given that it's a free transfer, there isn't a great risk so I'm not overly concerned.

There is a great risk. If he does sign theres every chance he could end up playing in the Champions League play-offs due to injuries. If cant handle it he could cost us Champions League football. If hes * dont sign him, free transfer or not.
