Need to learn from the past. Can't afford to wait till the last possible moment to get quality players in. I understand the idea that as a club, our ability to get players in largely relies on European qualification.

That said, we need to try and change that as best as we can. No more waiting till we have to start Ambrose and O'Connell away in Kazakhstan before we finally sign Kolo Toure.

In this situation, I really think Ajer would be able to slot in seamlessly and prove how good he really is, but on the off chance he doesn't do that, we have a young CB shot of confidence, a CB whose lost it in Sviatchenko, and Jozo. We need experience in, as soon as we can get it.

If we have any chance of signing Caulker in the near future we should be doing everything to make it happen. A former England cap, 25 years old whose lost his way but has shown quality in the past? No brainer for me.

Think people might be underestimating Rosenberg, worse teams than them have beaten us in the not too distant past

Who still have to see off Dundalk. Although a good team they are not as good as they have been in the past and we have improved significantly under Rodgers.

Well Molde, who have been in Rosenborg's shadow since their league was set up gave us a doing twice. People raving away saying everything is great are a mystery to me. Of course you could play Lustig in the centre, he's never a centre half though, well not in a back 4 anyway. He doesn't dominate and can't tackle. Also a bigger point is who plays right back? Ajer hasn't proved himself, he did well at Kilmarnock, the one game I saw which was against sevco he looked slow, I remember him being skinned in the box. These qualifiers are worth £30 million and define our whole season. I also agree about Jozo also making mistakes, it's not just Sviatchenko and Boyata, that's the whole point. We don't have one defender except Teirney that I feel totally comfortable with. Siminovic gets the benefit of the doubt because he's so young and had the injury. We got 5 bookings the other night, and the 3rd qualifier comes in a few weeks(if we get past Rosenberg) so it's not a matter of everything is cool. We've got about 12 midfielders but not enough defenders. We also need another striker. All the big clubs have 3 or 4 strikers. If Griffiths get a ban we've only got Dembele who's not fully fit, and could leave at any point. I know Sinclair can play there, it's not his favourite position though, and weakens the left hand side. Hopefully I'm just being a panic merchant, I just don't understand why some of the fans are so relaxed.

There's a story coming from London that QPR have agreed for Celtic to take Caulker on a free. I think it's dire straights for them, and they're desperate to save the 40k per week. Who knows, - I think Rodgers had to say the chat last week was purely as a mentor/ex manager otherwise he would have been accused of tapping up. Brendan also made a point of saying the player contacted him. Anyway I would like to see this happen, I think the mood at Celtic, and the fact he would see a few familiar faces would help him mentally. It sounds like he needs support. The knock on affect could be him getting back to being a top player. I noticed he said he's been training on his own, eating healthy and no boozing. At 25 for me he's got his whole life in front of him.

It's a risk but one worth taking, as I've said.

One of the main things is he hasn't played since fecking October..will be miles behind everyone else.

I'm not one for saying we should help him at all costs or anything, but the reality it, if we get him back to his best then we have a very good defender on our hands with his best years ahead of him.

Mentally I think this is probably a good place to be. The club has always had a family feel about it and while demands can be high, you're backed to the hilt to do your best.

Fresh start for him away from his past under a great manager, who knows how to bring the best out in folk. Honestly think this could be a win win for both. Give him a chance to get his head sorted and potentially enjoy life again while we get a top player that will give his all for us.

Either that or he goes to gentings casino, gets * up and were left like QPR paying thousands a week for someone we can't play. I'd take the risk, would still be more use than bitton!

Could be another Gordon situation for us. Few months in squad and back full fitness. We could have cracking player for free

He obviously looks up to Brendan as a mentor, what better place to get your career back on track than under that manager. On the other hand there is a lot of pressure on you playing for Celtic, would need to have "tremendous character" to go from off field issues and battles with depression etc. to jumping into a CL game in front of 60k fans... Not trying to say he isnt mentally fit for it or anything just that there is a fair bit of pressure and in order to come here he would have to be 100% up to the task!

That being said I hope thats the case lol

I see where you are coming from but this could be Ajer's opportunity to impress and become a regular part of the first team.
Players like Tierney and Dembele are young but have established themselves as a big part of our team now. Ajer should be given the opportunity like anyone else. More so now with Boyata's injury and Sviatchenko's poor form.

Look at Ajax last season they got to the europa league final with a young squad.

    This is definitely happening.

    Just a matter of when.
