To be honest my opinion is pretty much formed from his time in England, haven't seen him much at all for Dundee.

Fair enough. I think his life has taken a bit of a down turn, and while he was a prospect there, he has not lived up to that potential.

Seen him play at Swansea under BR...he was a rock and good in the air....don't know how he has been playing with Dundee.
To be honest if BR wants him, then I'm fine.

Wanted him but after seeing him play with them I'm not sure.

Think it would be another cheap option. Surely better quality available elsewhere.

another cheap option designed to do nothing other than plug a gaping hole with a band aid

Obviously a better player than Hendry but still nowhere near the quality needed

I think if we were to bring him in it would be good for the numbers - BR classes Commper as a defender but he doesn't play due to his constant injuries. Get him off the books, get Caulker in and at least we have a decent back up then. It's maybe not someone who's going to go in and improve the starting 11 but getting better quality and available backups are surely important too.

What was the point in wasting money on Hendry while letting him go to Dundee for free if BR wanted him too? No * seems to have a scooby what’s going on

Would take him to replace Compper - as backup - but we need to sign someone who is going to improve the first XI.

Whenever I’ve seen Caulker for Dundee he’s never stood out for good reasons.

He was another one who had reportedly fell out with McCann and his injury in preseason was used to cover that up. I know Scott Bain isn't a starter but could be similar scenario and actually he could be useful.

It is weird because Rodgers was pretty public about wanting him. Maybe he changed his mind.

not what we need, when he was worth it he was unattainable, now he's not good enough to nail a regular place in Dundee squad.

    Yeah Dann
Some signings have worked, some haven't.
But BR must have the final say on who comes in, he knows Caulker and his experience may help to stabilise the young defence now that Boyata has thrown the dummy out.
Would prefer an established name with organisational skills for defence.
Surely a double treble winning manager must have the last say on who comes in( no matter if the player makes it or not) if that isn't the case then.....trouble ahead!!

With Pistol Pete at the helm that's very possible. Dundee Burger King probably offered more favourable terms.

Totally agree. If anyone can get the best out of Caulker it is Brendan.

Haven’t seen a lot of him recently but I wouldn’t be happy if he was the only centre half we brought in when we are needing a change there.

Not fussed but as long as we sign 2 good centre halfs I wouldn’t mind Caulker joining if Brendan wants him. However he didn’t go for him when he was a free agent, whether that was because he wanted to see him prove himself again elsewhere first I don’t know.

Certainly hasn’t been overly impressive at Dundee from what I heard but if he was able to get back to where he was previously there is no doubt he would be an asset for us.

What I know for certain is we need to bring in quality first and foremost. Not another squad player.

Danny, I agree we need quality and established players that go straight into the first team.
However, that doesn't seem to be the pattern for BR, any experienced players he has brought in are ones he has worked with in the past i.e. Sinclair, Toure
All the rest (I might be wrong)have been Young players, who are projects and needing developed.BR seems to prefer to get players that he can mould into his style of play.....as I said earlier, some have worked and some haven't.This strategy, I'm sure is very attractive to the Board, buying cheap(or loans), then once established selling on for profit.
Hopefully, there are one or two quality players signed in this window to help gel and progress the team.
    Hail Hail
