It's clear as day that after the past 3 games, today included, that we are still a few players short of being confident of qualifying for the champions league.

The problem I have is I really like most of this current team and wouldn't like to see any of them drop out the way the likes of paddy has.But we defo need something different especially in defence and upfront.maybe our teamwould be stronger and playing better if kayal and izzy were in it.

Bottom line is I have not seen enough good performances this season to think this current team could get through the qualifiers against the likes of apoel.

    Gk.forster
    Lb.izzy
    Rb.mathews(hopefully he will keep improving)
    Cb.mulgrew/rogne
    Cb.new quality one needed
Rw.new winger with Forrest as understudy
Lw.Ibrahim(heard good things of him)new winger
    Cm.kayal/wanyama
    Cm.ledley/someone creative
    Str.hooper/stokes
    Str.new tall striker/sammy
    squad players brown,mcgeough

I know I have missed some out but these are in my view our main core who we should defo build around.the likes of commons,KI,McCourt we could move on and bring in better.

I don't fancy our chances in the qualifiers, Champions' route or not. As for next season's starting 11, that's very tough to try and predict but I would like to see our squad boosted with Johnny Russell and Gary Mackay Steven.

or McGeouch/McCourt in attacking midfield, several combinations any but a 4-4-2 although with Brown, Ledley and Kayal being fit and none droppable I can only see a 4-4-2 :54:

:56:so you think Ibrahim who hasn't even seen the field is worthy of a starting position but Forrest, who has scored the third most goals in our team and been sensational for most of the year, should be an understudy.

I'm pretty sure Ibrahim's best position is behind the striker, I don't think he is very comfortable out wide.

Nah mate I meant him as back up to a new winger.im surprised most of the above posters think that all we need to do to give us a realistic chance of qualifying for CL is sign Johnny Russell.

Seriously, are you happy seeing our defenders being bullied and brought to their knees by a strike force of mcelbows and aluko.

Next season should be all about getting to the group stage of the CL.if we are happy to just win the league then we are fine with what we have

I doubt Holt would come to us.

    Hooper Stokes

    Samaras Ledley Kayal Forrest

    Izaguirre Mulgrew Rogne Matthews

    Forster

Subs: Ki, McGeough, Wanyama, McCourt, Commons, Lustig, Bangura, Zaluska

I can't think of any players we can afford to sign who would make a significant difference (for example a 10% difference) to our CL qualification chances. To anyone who doubts this, examine the bookies' odds over the summer, on us winning our qualifying games. You'll notice they barely flicker when we sign a new player, unless he was a country mile ahead of what we've already got. In which case, the odds might shift about 3% - cos he's still only one of eleven.

With the odds being that next season we will face either no Rangers team, or a significantly depleted Rangers team in the league, the sensible thing to do would be to keep our powder dry, and build up cash reserves for the time when a strong Rangers 2012 etc returns.

    forster
    matthews rogne mulgrew izzy
    forrest brown kayal sammy
    hooper stokes

we need to add to defense and upfront so that there is competition for these players and it needs to be quality players who can come in and do just as good a job as the player they are replacing

Maybe your right hand but surely there are a couple of players out there relatively cheap that would improve us.going by my team I have picked we must be able to find better than the likes of commons on the left,a stronger cb and another quality striker.

I really like rogne and mulgrew but I just feel we need that extra bit of quality in there.

russell would be perfect for a front three hes got pace to burn and goals but imo stokes wouldn't work well as one of the wide players in a front three so i would have forrest in there instead.

promote several u19 players into the first team, buy russell and possibly a center back and we're sorted.
