I like the main stand, partly because I have a cracking seat there. I like the red brick facade at the end of the Celtic Way. The corridors are narrower and the pie queues take ages but I don't see that as a need for urgent redevelopment.

There's no business need for an expansion in my opinion, the extra seats would only be used max 5 or 6 times a season if we qualified for the Champions League and even less if we didn't.

If it was ever going to be done it would have been in the MoN era.

The difference for me between British/European and American sports is our excitement is generated authentically by the quality and importance of the game, as opposed to hype engineering such as cheerleaders, songs over PA instead of crowd noise, breaks in play every 5 seconds and other such things.

By future proofing do you mean making it more attractive to foreign fairweather fans who will be football tourists coming once a season like at Old Trafford or Nou Camp?
Because no homegrown Celtic fans were binning their season books due to a lack of high-end lighting tech!

And no, to my knowledge, there's absolutely nothing like this in Italy where every stadium except Juve's is half empty - and that's only full as they rebuilt it 20000 seats lighter!

Of course we're rich enough to afford it but imo the 2-3 mill could've been better put to speeding up the hotel and museum, improving Lennoxtown or maybe just maybe buying a * centre back :52:

It’s future proofed because UEFA and the TV companies demanded a certain level of visibility at games and the old lights weren’t upto it

That wont happen until they get full unrestricted views around the stadium.

Needs to have completely unrestricted views throughout the stadium seating but some of the pillars get in the way which stops us being category 4

I take it we meet all the criteria? The press etc...

I would love to host a Major Final, but for me the main stand let’s the stadium down. The tunnel area etc is small and constrained. If UEFA were to have a look at suitability that would be a definite negative.

    Knew it!

San Siro doesn't have disco lights as far as i'm aware, though they need thick * LEDs for the winter fog and smog.

Fans in Italy like at Parkhead create their atmosphere independently. Only prompting is by the announcer reading teamsheets and after a goal. Not remotely similar to, say, Yankee Baseball where everything's co-ordinated by some media manager.

Sorry it's all too disney for me.

I don't think we need better lights and speakers to improve atmosphere. Last time I was at CP the PA nearly blew my head of anyway so * me if they've made it even louder.

Referee changing rooms don’t meet the criteria

Due to the Levein shaped hole in the wall

Every top stadium needs a bowling alley, petrol station and car showroom :56:
Looks like the artists impression was done by a 5 year old as well.

I also remember it. The worst thing is, in hindsight it looks horrendous too. Even if it had been feasible and desirable (of course it was neither), we'd have been left with something pretty similar to Hampden. Yuck!
