A 19 year old Serbian international isn't as good as GMS? Come on. If mcgregor can keep Rogic out the team then there's no reason GMS can't get a game. He's just not good enough.

 

We've all said the same about other "squad players " even McGregor until a month ago ,now look Wots been said , the talent was always there , always had an eye for a goal from midfield , same with gms , he just needs more games and the fans off his back , but if bitton goes gms ,if still here is being lined up as the next one for the boo boys .

 

He had quality second half of the season with Zvezda, one of the best players, so I'm not surprised that he's under radar of many scouts, including ours.

First and foremost he's AMC, able to play on both wings, much better on right than on left. When it comes to Zvezda he's one of my favorite players, he has a heart of a lion. During games he's everywhere, constantly into oppositions face, constantly pressing, works his socks off. He has a good shooting ability, good technique, room for improvement.

My biggest issue with him coming here is his body structure. He's really small and definitely not strong for this butcher league, let's not mention CL. Yes, he's lively, really aggressive, but it would take much time for him to adapt to Scottish style of football. In Serbia refs tend to give him fouls for slightest contact, in Scotland such stuff would be overlooked. He suffered from playing on wing, he would often disappear from games because of that (especially on left wing), but he's really effective through the middle. Also, these two Serbia caps came during matches which best players from Serbian league played against MLS XI and Qatar I think, so not best Serbian players.

We have guys like McGregor and Christie who could improve, but again Plavšić would offer something different and I wish him to do well in his career, tough to decide.

 

He played on right for most of this season, linked up really well with Zvezda's right back, but again he's place is at center in my opinion, chasing people, something similar to what Johansen used to do.

Yes, he's really emotional, one of the reasons for that is because he grew up as Zvezda's supporter, so every goal means a lot to him.

Serbian league and football overall are so slow, sometimes players are barely running, like you are watching slow motion video when you compare it to Scottish league. Refs are giving easy fouls, players go down for minimum contact in order to get a penalty or good position for a free kick. All these things make Serbian players weaker when they play in European competitions or compared to players who are already at their new club in western Europe, it takes time and a lot of work to adapt. Even Vdić himself admitted that him and Evra struggled a lot at beginning of their Manchester careers, and we all know what kind of player Vidić was.

Just checked and he came on as a sub today in a good Serbian side who were quite unlucky against a brilliant Portugal side who had the likes of Guedes/Cancelo and then able to bring Renato Sanches off the bench also..

The Serbian right winger was class. Left footed and that maybe the guy that keeps this boy out? Serbia's best player by far..
