    Celtic are eyeing up a summer move for Serbian international playmaker Srdan Plavsic.

    Brendan Rodgers is in the market for a winger, central midfielder and a central defender before Champions League qualifiers in July.

    And Sportsmail understands that 21-year-old Red Star Belgrade wide man Plavsic has caught the attention of the Parkhead club.

    Reports in Serbia linked the Scottish champions with Red Star goalkeeper Filip Manojlovic after scout David Moss travelled to Belgrade to watch them play city rivals Partizan and then FK Cukaricki.

    But right-sided midfielder Plavsic, nicknamed the 'Atomic Ant' on account of his diminutive stature, has become the subject of favourable reports to Celtic as they prepare for loan star Patrick Roberts' return to Manchester City.

    Just 5ft 5ins tall, the former Vojvodina youth protege played for Serbia's under-21 side before breaking into the senior squad for games against Qatar and the United States.

    17 assists, 10 goals in 66 games for Red Star.

    Promising, I'll wait and see what our resident Serb has to say but I definitely think we need to exploit that part of Europe as often as we can. Said it a few times, plenty of talent for a good price.

    Serbia seem to producing some amount of talent these days. A bit like Croatia I've been wanting us to start picking up some players from there for a while.

    Never seen this * though so hopefully he's class :giggle1:

    Gets a lot of space it seems, he wont get that here. He will quickly have 2 or 3 players on him when attacking, and for me Roberts has that sort of messi ability to drive through 3 players and still have the ball. Didn't see that from this kid.
    Has good pace, a great shot on him with power (though ignore the shot at 4:40 that was going dor the corner flag), he can see a good forward defence splitting pass which I like, and his crossing is decent.

    Worth a punt at a fair price, if Roberts is a complete non-starter

    Price is apparently £1.5m or so. Only has a year left on his deal.

    I'd sign him and still pursue Roberts on some sort of deal again. I think we need 2 wingers. GMS will be off and isn't good enough anyway.

    I feel as though this right wing will be the new position we will struggle to feel happy with for a few years from the hole left by Roberts.

    At that price, I would be inclined to agree. Seen in that YT that he can come down the left - and the middle - so will at worst be a good back up to Sinclair, with the view to making the RW his own, and sell for a profit in a few years.

    Don't think he would be any better than gms and Infact I feel with a decent run in the side through pre season could see him really flourish here ,he defo has the ability it's lack of confidence and game time and tbh I'm surprised he has not broken into the side after his injuries ,if he gets another chance he will have to take it this time as wee Johnstone looked the part on his debut .

    What makes you say that?

    I think GMS is done here. He had a chance when Forrest and Roberts were both out but he couldn't take it. Cannot afford to be doing that especially when every other player around you is taking their chances.

    He should be moved on.

    GMS will be gone in the summer. Lenny could do worse than sign him for Hibs.
