Bhoys and girls, yoy cannot have time for sentiment when chasing success.

For me, tonight proved, broony is done, Izzy is done and not based on tonight obviously, we all know lustig is done. The board should replace these players that served us so we'll over the last 7 years (if not more.) Replace quality with quality.

    Opinions....

Broony is far from done. * seem to jump on this bandwagon anytime he has one bad game. Which just shows the level of consistency he keeps up

Tierney replaced Izzy a long time ago. Couple of month injury and folk seem to have forgotten that he’s actually our first choice left back.

As I said with Brown, he cannot play every game now, last few games he has shown the spark is still there, but we need to manage his game time to get the best out of him and not overplay him.

I love broony, some of the memories are incredible but again, do not let sentiment get in the way. The man has had a shocker on big occasions a few times running. Izzy may well be a backup but it doesn't change the fact he has been a cheap (or anything at all) on aging backup. I have said this on another post but we must have taken £2M+ in gate receipts tonight. I don't think spending £2.1M on one position is too much of ask!

We aren’t asking on one position though, are we? We’re asking on several. Also don’t think that’s too much to ask for. He’s getting older but he’s far from finished. As it is, I think Bitton, Ntcham, Christie, McGregor, Rogic and Brown are just fine options.

2 big games btw. One when he was just back from injury.

McGregor played * tonight, as did Forrest, Christie, Burke...

Our biggest problem in Europe isn’t the personnel, it’s approaching the games in the exact same manner as we do the SPFL. Not a surprise when better teams beat us in that case

Depending on who we spend it on. I didn’t even mention £3m Eboue Kouassi in that...

That's a reported fee, I don't believe that, do you?

No really but it doesn’t really detract from my point.

We spent £2.5m between Van Dijk and Wanyama. If we only spent £2.5m in the summer but it was players of that calibre (very unlikely I know) then I’d be * ecstatic.

Again fair point but that doesn't take away from the fact the world of football is different from even then. If we lose a player of the quality like wanyama or van dijk we should spend half the transfer fee, straight away imo. If we sell for £12M sales there is no harm in buying for £6M

Totally agree mate, we just need to make sure it’s on the right players. So the most important thing for me is to immediately get Congerton to *...

I agree with you about those three. All three should be emptied in the summer.

Gone would be a bit too harsh on Brown, but at this point he cannot play every single game anymore. There are games where his characteristics no longer are what we need and we better have someone else.

I wish all the squad had his loyalty to the Club and the fans, his guts and his fight. When I think of some the chancers and chokers who were lauded on here in the past I cringe.

Hes getting older but the fight is still there, if he is used more selectively he will bounce back and give us (at least!) two more years Im certain.

That's a fair assessment on tonight's performance brown and izzy need replaced and so does Lustig on past performances.
Ncham for brown, teirney for izzy and at the end of the season a new rb for Lustig

Players who struggle with the basics, like passing and running, should be demoted to the reserves until they make improvements (or indefinitely if that is impossible).

Some of our players are making matchday squads by virtue of their seniority alone.

What \o/ said, saves me a lot of words.

The usual names get whacked out as usual.

Gordon - cannae pass a ball, well Bain is better with the ball at his feet but in the first major test, failed with hospital balls all night.

Lustig - Toljan never went forward once and not sure if he passed forward once, first test, failed.

Izzy - He's a second choice LB and has managed well so far, we can't * millions on reserves ffs.

Brown - I agree we can't use him every game but he's hardly finished, we are aware it's a fact only last season that he was statistically the best in CL at doing the basics, better than any of our other midfielders.

The whole team were *, just face it.

Toljan was by far the best player on the pitch for us last night. By far.

Have to say the polar opposite, one of the worst on show, countless pointed out how poor he was, never went forward at all and some very very sloppy play.

For me the only players to even merit a 'poor' to 'average' at best was Sinclair and the two subs.
